Life to the Moment–Reading Slumps & Skyrim

Ugh! So I purchased a Nintendo Switch on Prime Day, mostly in anticipation for Let’s Go, Eevee. Yes, I am one of those. I play Pokemon Go every day. I admit I even plan lunches at restaurants with Poke stops so I can stock up on balls while eating. I spend most of our vacation time with my Go-tcha connected to my phone, so I can catch ‘em all day long. So when I saw a pretty good deal on the Switch, a memory card, and eShop credit, I finally made the jump. This was before the Pokemon Go bundles were announced, and while I wish I could have gotten one of those, I have spent so much time playing Skyrim that I accept that I will be stuck with a boring black Switch, instead of one with cute Pikachus and Eevees. I guess I can always decorate my Switch with stickers.

State of the Blog and New Reviewer

I have been on an extended hiatus from my usual blogging activities.  After my mom passed away last year, I lost the drive to keep up any kind of posting schedule, and then Real Life got in the way.  Work has been very busy, and Pokemon Go took up a lot of my time, but with the colder weather blowing in, it’s not as appealing to go out and hunt for virtual monsters right now.  I have been reading the entire time, as well as posting my reviews on Goodreads, so if you want to see what I’ve been reading and not posting about, check it out here.  I’m hoping to have a regular posting schedule by the beginning of the year, but keep an eye out for occasional reviews until then.  We are spending part of the holiday season at Disney World, so things aren’t going to be regular until we get back.

Life to the Moment

Ugh.  I haven’t been around much because my mother passed away last month.  I have been in a funk ever since, and haven’t felt like blogging.  Everything about it reminds me of my mom.  She instilled my love of books at a very young age, and right up until her death, we texted daily about books, or the library, or something she saw on my blog.  I am having a very hard time accepting what happened, which is totally irrational because I was there when it did, and I saw how much discomfort she was in at the end.

Merry Christmas!

I have recovered (marginally) from my food coma, so before the feasting begins again, I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!  Dean, the pups, and I have been lounging about the house, not doing much of anything.  Dean and I had a nice dinner yesterday to celebrate Christmas Eve, and we headed over to our favorite Indian buffet for lunch today.  I am taking the next few days off to unwind, so you won’t see another post until Sunday.  I plan on reading, playing Monster Busters (I can’t stop playing!), and cuddling with the puppers.  I hope you have an enjoyable day!  Did Santa bring you everything you wished for??

#Bloggerblackout and What it Means to Me

It’s a known fact that puppies lower blood pressure, so here is a puppy.

In case you were wondering where the reviews have been the past few days, I have decided to participate in the #Bloggerblackout.  What’s that?  It’s a time to reconnect with why I blog.

There have been crazy things going on in the blogging sphere over the last few weeks, and if you aren’t aware of them, check out this post at Book Binge.  It sums up pretty much how I feel, with handy links if you want to read about what’s going on. I don’t feel like recapping; I’m recapped out.
