August Wrap-up and September Reading Goals

In order to help myself tackle more review books, both print and digital, once a month I will be posting a list of books that I hope to read during that month.  I work more efficiently when I have a game plan, so hopefully these monthly posts will keep me focused on my goal of reading and reviewing more books, and will make my TBR not seem so intimidating.  By breaking away chunks of the TBR mountain, I can better manage my reading. In theory, anyway!

Ugh! Once again I had a slow month.  I only managed to read 12 books.  I have been busy at work, I was out of town the last week of the month, and my reading time was therefore  reduced.  Boohoo!  I also managed to read hardly anything on my reading list!  My favorite reads in August were The Hallowed One by Laura Bickle and Spellbound by Rachel Hawkins.

Here are some books I hope to get through in September.    What’s on your reading list?

Can’t Hurry Love by Molly O’Keefe

June Reading Goals and May Wrap-Up

In order to help myself tackle more review books, both print and digital, once a month I will be posting a list of books that I hope to read during that month.  I work more efficiently when I have a game plan, so hopefully these monthly posts will keep me focused on my goal of reading and reviewing more books, and will make my TBR not seem so intimidating.  By breaking away chunks of the TBR mountain, I can better manage my reading. In theory, anyway!

I read 15 books in May, and there were so many goods ones it’s hard to pick a favorite.  I think Inside Out & Back Again by Thanhha Lai was excellent, and When You Were Mine by Rebecca Searle was a pleasant surprise.  Some of my reading time was taken over by blog maintenance issues, which I find very stressful to deal with.  I had to change the blog template, and I’m not sure that I like this one.

June might be a slow reading month for me; I’ll be out of town at a horse show for a week and sometimes it is difficult to squeeze in reading time.  There are so many other things to do – like eat!  Anyway, here is what  I would like to read in June.

Dead Reckoning by Mercedes Lackey and Rosemary Edghill

The Marked by Inara Scott

The Taker by Alma Katsu

Last Real Cowboy by Donna Alward

Body & Soul by Stacey Kade

Transcendence by C J Omololu

Horse Camp by Nicole Lea Helget

Tempest Unleashed by Tracy Deebs

The Forgetting Curve by Angie Smibert

Burn Mark by Laura Powell

Can’t Buy Me Love by Molly O’Keefe

Storm by Brigid Kemmerer

Wreck of the Nebula Dream by Veronica Scott

Deep Autumn Heat by Elizabeth Barrett

The Last Princess by Galaxy Craze

Blood Before Sunrise by Amanda Bonilla

Chase Me by Tamara Hogan

Most Improper Miss Sophie Valentine by Jayne Fresina

Lady Amelia’s Mess and a Half  by Samantha Grace

The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda

March Reading Goals and February Wrap-up

In order to help myself tackle more review books, both print and digital, once a month I will be posting a list of books that I hope to read during that month.  I work more efficiently when I have a game plan, so hopefully these monthly posts will keep me focused on my goal of reading and reviewing more books, and will make my TBR not seem so intimidating.  By breaking away chunks of the TBR mountain, I can better manage my reading. In theory, anyway!

My February totals are off from last month, but I am trying to console myself by reminding myself that February is a shorter month.  I also had more social commitments in February, which cut into my reading time.   I read 13 books, all of which were review books.

My projected reading list for March includes:

The Humming Room by Ellen Potter

A Breath of Eyre by Eve Marie Mont

When the Sea is Rising Red by Cat Hellisen

Awkward by Marni Bates

Fever by Lauren DeStefano

Dire Needs by Stephanie Tyler

Vengeance Born by Kylie Griffin

Shadow Ops: Control Point by Myke Cole

The Legend of Diamond Lil by Doreen Cronin

Thief’s Covenant by Ari Marmell

The Alchemist of Souls by Anne Lyle

A Beautiful Evil by Kelly Keaton

Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler

Life Eternal by Yvonne Woon

Partials by Dan Wells

Banshee Charmer by Tiffany Allee

I had a two way tie  for Holy Crap This is a Good Book – Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood and Deadly by Julie Chibbaro

February Reading Goals and January Wrap Up

In order to help myself tackle more review books, both print and digital, once a month I will be posting a list of books that I hope to read during that month.  I work more efficiently when I have a game plan, so hopefully these monthly posts will keep me focused on my goal of reading and reviewing more books, and will make my TBR not seem so intimidating.  By breaking away chunks of the TBR mountain, I can better manage my reading. In theory, anyway!

I failed miserably to squeeze in all of the review books I had planned for January, but I did actually read more that I thought I would.  I just veered a little of course, and was distracted by new releases or by different books from my TBR. I completed 7 Netgalley books, and I did read 16 books overall, which surprises me because January was busy in terms of Real Life.  So, here are some books I would like to read in February (some of these are making a repeat appearance):

The Humming Room by Ellen Potter

Above World by Jenn Reese

When the Sea is Rising Red by Cat Hellisen

My Favorite Mistake by Bloomberg and Hapka

Fever by Lauren DeStefano

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Vengeance Born by Kylie Griffin

Shadow Ops: Control Point by Myke Cole

Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler

Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood

Partials by Dan Wells

Princess of the Wild Swans by Diane Zahler

The Girl Who Could Silence the Wind by Meg Medina

No Dress Required by Cari Quinn

On the Bright Side by S R Johannes

Life Eternal by Yvonne Woon

Banshee Charmer by Tiffany Allee

Ember by Kristen Callihan

Miss Hillary Schools a Scoundrel by Samantha Grace

Deadly by Julie Chibbaro

How do you decide what to read next?  What was your favorite January read?  Mine was An Affair With Mr Kennedy by Jillian Stone.
