Review: Falling for Mr Wrong by Inara Scott

Falling for Mr. Wrong: A Bencher Family Book (Entangled Indulgence)

May Contain Spoilers

Review:

I had a few problems with Falling for Mr Wrong, though I did enjoy the read.  I thought that the plot relied on too many convenient coincidences, and  at one point, it felt too contrived.  After repeatedly pushing Kelsey away, Ross takes advantage of her to close a business deal.  My biggest problem with the book is that I never really cared for Ross.  Sure, he’s a great dad, but he’s not such a great supporter of Kelsey. Because she climbs mountains, and because he’s risk adverse, he doesn’t even try to see her point of view until very close to the end of the novel.  He also has a distressing way of looking down on her, and I had a hard time getting over that.

Review: Some Like it Sinful by Robbie Terman

May Contain Spoilers

Review:

Some Like it Sinful was bumped to the top of the review pile for one reason – it’s about a hockey player.  Oh, and a pastry chef.  How could I resist this combination of sugar and spice vs. tough guy brawn?  I’m from Detroit and I’ve been a Red Wings fan forever.  I live with a hockey nut, too, so there’s no escape from the madness, at least until the Wings are knocked out of the playoffs – again.  Then the whole city pouts while putting on a brave face and vowing, “We’ll go all the way next year!”  So, yeah, I wanted to read this – badly!

Review:

In a short time, Tessa Bailey has become a favorite author.  I always get a happy tingle when she has a new release.   While not all of the elements work for me, the romances are hot, hot, hot, the character interaction keeps me engaged in the story, and the dialog is snappy and amusing.   Like today’s anticipated Thanksgiving feast,  I devoured Asking for Trouble, enjoying this guilty pleasure.

Novella Review: On His List by Wendy Sparrow

On His List (Entangled Flirts)

May Contain Spoilers

Review:

ZOMG, I really enjoyed this novella, and I will use a word to describe it that I typically avoid because it is so over-used.  On His List is adorable.  I loved the uptight Owen, and worried that his OCD would prevent him from seeing how perfect Remy would be for him.  Would he look past her unplanned, spontaneous exterior to the caring woman lurking under the flashy clothes and oh so not sensible shoes?  Could he get beyond her list defacing ways?
