Review: Lock ‘N’ Load by Tee O’Fallon @entangledpub

May Contain Spoilers

If you haven’t guessed, I added this to my TBR because of the K9 on the cover. I am a sucker for dog books, and I love K9 stories. I have mixed success with suspense in general, but I still want to read every book with police or military dogs. This was a successful read, despite some problems with the heroine.

Review: The Billionaire’s Forever Family

May Contain Spoilers

The Billionaire’s Forever Family features one of my favorite romance tropes – care-giver of an orphaned relative struggles to raise the child, and then has to fend off a custody battle. Cassie Frost has been raising her niece Emily since she was born. Her sister, a free-spirit, and that’s being kind, because deep down she was selfish and cared more for herself than for her own daughter, thought Cassidy would bail her out of every stupid decision she made, has recently passed away from a sudden illness. Thinking that Emily needs a male role-model in her life, Cassie reaches out to Will Connelly, suspecting that he might be Emily’s father. What she doesn’t expect is a threat to her guardianship and having her whole life thrown in an uproar.

Review: The Baby Bombshell by Victoria James

Most Certainly Contains Spoilers

I usually enjoy Victoria James’ books, so I was so disappointed when I didn’t enjoy this one.  Lily and Jack’s romance did not keep me engaged, and I thought Jack was an incredibly selfish jerk.  I started calling him Jack-ass, because I found some of his behavior so offensive. Here is a guy who ran away from everyone who loved him, instead of manning up and trying to deal with his grief over the loss of his twin brother and nephew, surrounded by the loving embrace of his family and his fiancée.  Nope. Not good enough for him. He’s gonna do it ALONE.

Micro Review: Slamdunked by Love by Jamie Wesley @entangledpub

May Contain Spoilers

I decided to read Slamdunked by Love because of the revenge subplot.  I am in no way, shape, or form a basketball fan, so at first I was hesitant.  The game scenes were fast paced and kept to a minimum, so they didn’t bother me, and I even found them somewhat exciting.  For basketball. Just kidding!  But, seriously, if you avoid sports stories because you don’t have an interest in sports, the book focuses on the behind the scenes aspects of the game, keeping the actual gameplay brief. Don’t let that stop you from picking up the book.

Review: Thrown Down by Tessa Bailey

May Contain Spoilers

Tessa Bailey’s writing is like chocolate mousse.  It tastes so good, but a steady diet of it will make you sick.  I find her writing eminently readable and have a hard time putting my Kindle down when it’s got a new Bailey book loaded and ready to go.  It’s like it’s teasing me.  You can’t put me down!  You can’t stop reading me!  I get tired of the dirty talking and her heroes are not for me, but I do find the chemistry between her protagonists irresistible.
