Bloggiesta! Ole!!

Bloggiesta starts tomorrow.   This wonderful blogging event is happening at a perfect time for me; I am prepping the blog for my upcoming vacation to OKC, and  Bloggiesta gives me a great excuse to stay home and do nothing but blog!  Perfect!!  Here’s my list of activities I plan to tackle:

Clean up sidebar

Catch up on interview posts

Send out questions for planned interview posts

Get current on reviews (I have 4 to write)

Schedule posts for October and have everything ready to go for when I’m on vacation

Prep some of the giveaways I am planning  (I love to recycle books this way!)

Organize TBR mountain before it falls on me and kills me (this is on my list every time!)

Plan my reading list for October

Squeeze in a few volumes of manga (I haven’t been reading enough of these)

Research Feedburner conversion. I don’t like the email subscription aspects of Feedcat

Work out an exercise schedule (because a healthy blogger is a happy blogger! Yes, that was also on the last list, and since I finally have my asthma under control, I need to get back on some kind of exercise routine )

Participate in some of the mini-challenges (this is a great way to learn some new blogging tips and tricks)

Are you participating in Bloggiesta? What are your goals for the weekend?

Bloggiesta 2012 Wrap-up Post

I didn’t make much headway on my Bloggiesta tasks.  Why?  Because I started reading Storybound by Marissa Burt and couldn’t put it down.  So, while I still have a large to-do list, at least I was able to enjoy a wonderful MG fantasy novel.  I’ll take that any day of the week!

Create a Facebook page – This is still at the top of my list!

Clean up sidebar

Catch up on interview posts (I have about 7 in various stages) – I posted 5

Get current on reviews (I have 3 to write) -  I only got one of these tackled

Plan out schedule for April and beginning of May

Prep some of the contests I have planned for April and May

Organize TBR mountain before it falls on me and kills me

Organize digital TBR before my poor Kindle Fire or iPad suffocate on all of the eBooks I keep purchasing

Work out an exercise schedule (because a healthy blogger is a happy blogger!)  On the exercise front, I am committed to 30 minutes of Dance Dance Revolution on the days that I don’t go horseback riding (on Extreme).  I dusted off the dance pads, cleared an area for them, and dug out all of my game disks.  Last weekend was really my first attempt to start DDRing again, and now that I remember how much fun it is to play, I am looking forward to improving my skills, which have gotten quite rusty.

If you participated, how did you do?

Ready! Set! GO! Bloggiesta 2012

Bloggiesta kicks off today!  While I won’t have much time to work on my to do list today, I am planning on devoting lots of time to blogging activities tomorrow and Sunday.  Here’s my list of activities I plan to tackle:

Create a Facebook page

It’s Almost Here – Bloggiesta 2012!

It’s almost time for Bloggiesta!  If you haven’t heard of it, check out this post at It’s All About BooksSign up while you’re there!  Here’s more information about Bloggiesta:

It’s time! Do you plan to fiesta with us the weekend  of March 30, 31 and April 1? Do you have things you’d like to do on your blog that you haven’t managed to get to in forever? Do you want to do those things with lots of other bloggers from all over? Talk things over with them? Bounce ideas off them? Learn from them? Teach them too?

This is a great event that will help you focus on some of the mechanical and maintenance aspects of running a blog.  Need to clean up that sidebar or spruce up your review templates?  You can do it during Bloggiesta! You can also participate in mini-challenges and network with other bloggers.  I participated last year, and learned many useful skills to keep my blog running smoothly.  Check it out if you haven’t participated before, because it is a lot of fun.
