I am so excited to be part of Karen Ann Hopkins’ Forever blog tour! This series has been like crack for me.  I love all of the angst and all of the drama!  Today I’m going to introduce you to Rose, and I’m going to ask her all kinds of questions about Noah and her new life with the Amish.  After, please enter the giveaway for a chance to win some really cool prizes!

[Manga Maniac Café] Good morning, Rose. Can you describe yourself in five words or less.

[Rose] Spunky, tenacious, loyal, persistent, athletic.

[Manga Maniac Café] Can you share a typical day in your life?

[Rose] Before I moved to Meadowview, my days were carefree. The dance studio, riding stable and mall were my favorite haunts and hanging out with my best friends, Amanda and Britney filled my free-time. Everything’s changed now. I haven’t been shopping in what seems like forever and my trendy, sharp dressed ‘old’ friends have been replaced by girls who wear frumpy polyester dresses that cover every curve they have and white caps to hide their pretty, long hair. But I wouldn’t change a thing. Amazingly, I’m perfectly content living in the country, surrounded on all sides by Amish neighbors.

Where I used to sleep until noon on the weekends, I now hurry out of bed by eight in the morning to feed my horse, Lady, and muck out her stall. I rush through my chores so that I can secretly meet Noah in the fields across the road on horseback later in the day. I live for those moments that we’re alone. Sure, it’s not easy sneaking around and lying to Dad and my brothers, but it won’t last forever. Someday, we’ll be together. The odds may be against us, but I know in my heart it will work out in the end. It has to.

[Manga Maniac Café] What three words come to mind when you think of the Noah?

[Rose] Handsome, strong…and stubborn.

[Manga Maniac Café] What has been the most difficult aspect of your relationship?

[Rose] I hate lying to Dad, Sam and Justin. I’m one of those annoyingly honest people and it bothers me lie about anything. A year ago I’d never have imagined losing my morals for a guy. But I’ve changed a lot since I met Noah. All common sense flies out the window where he’s concerned. I admit, it’s probably a bad thing, but I can’t help myself. I guess it’s true what they say about love making people do crazy things. I’m a prime example of it. And the worst thing is, deep down, I know I’m making mistakes.

[Manga Maniac Café] Why do you think you are facing so much opposition to being with your true love?

[Rose] Oh, that’s easy to answer, prejudice, plain and simple. Everyone’s angry that I’m giving up a sophisticated, easier…better life to be with Noah. Dad and Sam think I’m out of mind to consider becoming Amish and that it will never work out. But they have it all wrong. I’m a lot stronger than they think I am. I’m okay with losing the conveniences and technology of my old life. Those things don’t really matter. Everyone doesn’t have to live same lifestyle to be happy. Isn’t being a wife and mother and working the land just as honorable and rewarding as driving into the city each day to work in some kind of professional job? I know what makes me happy and I’m willing to give some things up to spend my life with Noah, because living without him isn’t an option. Without Noah, I wouldn’t be living at all.

[Manga Maniac Café] If you could change one thing you’ve done in your life, what would it be?

[Rose] I would never have gone to that stupid party with Sam. It nearly cost Noah his life. Even now, when I think about Rumor’s tortured whinny and the crumpled wreckage of the buggy, I shiver. It was all because of me.

[Manga Maniac Café] What’s one thing you won’t leave home without?

[Rose] A year ago, I would have said, my cell phone, but I’ve discovered that I can actually live without one. It’s against the rules to own one here in the Meadowview, so I’ve been practicing going without. Yeah, I know it sucks and at first I found myself always reaching into my pocket to search for mine every few minutes, but I got over it. Now, the one item that I always grab as I walk out the door is my sunglasses. Lucky for me, it’s okay to where them in my Amish community. My blue eyes are super sensitive to light and I’ve become quite dependent on them, even on cloudy days.

[Manga Maniac Café] Can you share your dreams for the future in five words or less.

[Rose]  To be accepted.

[Manga Maniac Café] Thank you!

All I want is my happily-ever-after.

That’s all I’ve wanted since meeting Noah Miller.

From the day we met, the world has tried to keep Noah and me from being together, but now that I’m carrying his child, no one will be able to tear us apart. Or so I hope. But Noah and I have made some mistakes along the way, and the consequences are impacting the people we love. Worse, there’s a storm on the horizon, and it’s sure to cause serious devastation.

If we can get through this, we’ll finally be Rose and Noah; a family, forever.

But first we have to survive the road ahead. And happily-ever-after is a long way off
