The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba of The Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  This is a weekly meme where we can share news of the week and highlight new books received.

Wow, the weather can’t seem to make up its mind this winter!  Last week we were slammed with over a foot of snow, and temps were a dangerous 17 below on Monday, with wind chills at 35 below.  This weekend, it’s raining and in the 40s.  The warmer temperatures have turned all of the snow still our streets to ice, since the county never bothered to come and plow our streets.  The trash was never picked up, either!

I have been on an oatmeal kick, thanks to this recipe at Kathy Eats Real Food  I don’t usually share recipes because, well, frankly, I hate to cook, but this overnight oatmeal recipe is so simple even I had success with it.  I use fruity yogurt blends and dried or cut up fresh fruit, and YUM, I have oatmeal in a portable container that I can take to work and eat while I’m running system reports.

How is the weather treating you this year?  Do you have any simple recipes you fall back on?  Share in the comments!

Looks like you got a lot of romances this week. Sorry about the snow. We had record breaking temps here, but they weren’t even close to being that cold. And congrats on your new oatmeal recipe. I can’t tell you when the last time I had oatmeal was. Happy reading!

Nice haul this week. I’ve not read any of these but I’m a fan of sports romances. Can’t wait to see your reviews on these.

I will check out the oatmeal recipe, so thank you. I am over the weather too, country life can be wonderful but no trash collection and un-plowed roads stink. Hope your week is a good one and Royally Lost looks like a fun read!

Your weather sounds like ours. We went from bitterly cold to 40- ish, and heavy rain on Friday. They did plow our area, but the plow ran over my trash bin and pretty much demolished it- it ended up halfway down the street. Fun in the snow!

A Plague of Angels looks good, like that cover.

The weather is drunk. It’s needs to go home. Or sober up. I need to check out your oatmeal recipe. And great book haul! Enjoy.
