[Manga Maniac Cafe] Good morning, Connor. Can you describe yourself in five words or less.
[Connor Maguire] Perky fueled-by-Dew writer
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you share a typical day in the life of Connor Maguire?
[Connor Maguire] Wake up and go for a 5 mile run with Penny, my German shepherd, or a swim in Lake Norman. Pick up my partner Kaleb, who I just learned has a smokin’ hot little sister, Faith, who talks trash like nobody’s business. Squeeze in a few minutes of flirting with her, then head to the police station and either respond to calls or patrol. Make sure the city’s as safe as possible, and follow up on any cases or people I regularly check in on. Head to Magnolia Park to help with the clean up so it’ll be ready for the Fall Festival, and if not too tired, hit the Rusty Anchor for dinner and to relax a bit before doing it all again.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three words come to mind when you think of Faith?
[Connor Maguire] Sexy, feisty, home
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you find most exasperating about her?
[Connor Maguire] She’s stubborn as hell. Of course, it also makes messing with her really fun. Sometimes I wish she’d just let her guard down, though, and admit there’s something between us. But like I said, she’s so freaking stubborn.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you could change one thing you’ve done in your life, what would it be?
[Connor Maguire] I wish I would’ve been stronger when I was younger.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What’s one thing you won’t leave home without?
[Connor Maguire] Don’t have much that I have to have, but I do like having my gun and handcuffs strapped to my belt. Makes me feel ready for anything.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] How do you relax after a hard day trying to woo your best friend’s sister?
[Connor Maguire] Head to the Rusty Anchor for some dinner—of course lately, she’s there, too—or kick back and watch a movie with my dog by my side. Possibly a couple of beers if I’m off the next day.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you share your dreams for the future in five words or less.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Thank you!
[Connor Maguire] Thanks!

Resisting her brother’s best friend is futile…
Faith Fitzpatrick isn’t looking for a hero. Burned one too many times in the past, she’s now sworn them off completely. And when her brother’s best friend, Connor, convinces him to join the dangerous SWAT team, Faith has never been more anti-hero. What’s wrong with having a safe job? There’s nothing safe about Connor. Confident, sexy, and sporting a six-pack that should be illegal, he’s everything she doesn’t want.
When his best friend’s sister moves to town, local cop Connor Maguire knows he’s in trouble. Faith is feisty, funny, and talks trash like nobody’s business. She’s also his partner’s sister—and so totally off limits. Working on the Fall Festival together, they agree to a truce and become friends. But the more time Connor spends with Faith, the more he’s willing to risk the wrath of her brother. If he could only convince her to take a risk on him, too.
About the Author:
Cindi Madsen sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a new pretty pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music, dancing, and wishes summer lasted all year long.
She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children. She is the author of YA novels All the Broken Pieces and Demons of the Sun, adult contemporary romances Falling for Her Fiancé and Act Like You love Me, and the women’s fiction novel Cinderella Screwed Me Over.
