Meet Detective Claude Desmairis from Tiffany Allee’s Vampire Games

Please welcome Detective Claude Desmarais to the virtual offices this morning!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Describe yourself in five words or less.

[Claude Desmarais] I’m just an easygoing investigator. And a vampire. I guess some people might see that as important. *laughs*

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you share a typical day in the life of Detective Claude Desmarais?

[Claude Desmarais] I’ve devoted most of my rather long life bringing criminals to justice—for the human police, and other times for my people. My typical day involves a lot of boring hours spiced up by the occasional chase or fight. And I’ll admit my favorite days involve both.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three words come to mind when you think of Beatrice?

[Claude Desmarais] Intelligent. Hopeful. Beautiful. I’d have said fiery, but she would have hurt me for that. Actually, put fiery in there. Could make for a fun evening. *winks*

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you find most exasperating about her?

[Claude Desmarais] You are trying to get me into trouble, aren’t you? Fine. She’s stubborn and far too willing to put herself into dangerous positions when she feels like she’s doing the right thing.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you could change one thing you’ve done in your life, what would it be?

[Claude Desmarais] Between you and me, I don’t regret a lot of things. If you let yourself dwell on mistakes as a vampire…well, we have a lot of time to dwell. It’s not healthy. But I do wish I’d done better by Beatrice the first time we met.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What’s one thing you won’t leave home without?

[Claude Desmarais] My fangs. Guess that’s two things, but the only come in pairs.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How do you relax after a hard day tracking down murderers?

[Claude Desmarais] AC/DC and a glass of wine. And, well…never mind. That fiery comment is already going to get me in trouble.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you share your dreams for the future in five words or less.

[Claude Desmarais] Moonlit beach walks. Beatrice. Hope.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Thank you!

[Claude Desmarais] Thank you for having me! And that fiery part? Maybe don’t print that after all.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Don’t worry, Claude.  I’ll keep that under wraps. *crosses fingers behind back*

Vampire Games by Tiffany Allee

Release Date: 10/28

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Book Description:

She’s seen the past…

OWEA Agent Beatrice Davis is haunted by the death visions that help her solve crimes. When Detective Claude Desmairis, her vampire ex-lover, asks for her assistance on a case, she’d rather help him than take the mandated leave to stave off her burn-out.

The truth won’t stay buried…

Pressed to solve a series of crimes before the perpetrator blows the vampire world apart, Claude turns to a woman he thought he’d been able to leave behind. But he was wrong, and his feelings for her will only bring trouble in an investigation this dangerous.

As their passions reignite, they see a possible future together. Until her visions show her the face of the murderer—a man Claude can never betray.

About the Author:

CPA-turned-romance-author Tiffany Allee used to battle spreadsheets in Corporate America, and now concentrates on her characters’ battles to find love. Raised in small-town Colorado, Tiffany currently lives in Phoenix, AZ, by way of Chicago and Denver. She is happily married to a secret romantic who tolerates her crazy mutterings.

She writes about ass-kicking heroines and the strong heroes who love them. Her work includes the suspense-driven From the Files of the Otherworlder Enforcement Agency series which revolves around a group of paranormal cops solving crimes and finding love, and Don’t Bite the Bridesmaid, a lighthearted paranormal romance (Entangled Publishing).

Tiffany has an MBA in accounting and nearly a decade of experience in corporate finance. All super useful stuff for a writer who spends far too much time trying to figure out fun ways to keep her characters apart, and interesting ways to kill people (for her books—of course!).
