Meet Miguel Sanchez of Caridad Pineiro’s For Love or Vengeance

Please welcome Miguel Sanchez to the virtual offices this morning!  He’s the hunky hero of Caridad Pineiro’s For Love or Vengeance.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Describe yourself in five words or less.

[Miguel Sanchez] Reliable. Honorable. Patient. Family man. Dedicated.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you share a typical day in the life of Miguel Sanchez?

[Miguel Sanchez] For a long time I’ve been totally devoted to my work. I’m at FBI headquarters early and stay late often when I’m on a case. Lately my dreams have been filled with thoughts about my new partner which is a little troubling. Okay, maybe more than a little troubling since she’s hard-headed, determined and sees everything in black and white. That’s a dangerous thing, especially since I’m so attracted to her and her mindset is one that I can’t live with.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three words come to mind when you think of Helene?

[Miguel Sanchez] LOL! Hard-headed, determined and judgmental. But I think that inside there is a very loving, passionate and caring woman. I wish I could figure out how to get past the tough shell she’s erected around herself.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you find most exasperating about her?

[Miguel Sanchez] Her lack of compassion. It’s like she doesn’t understand how to handle people’s emotions or her own for that matter. But she is trying lately so I’ll give her props for that.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you could change one thing you’ve done in your life, what would it be?

[Miguel Sanchez] I was responsible for a young woman getting killed. Sure the Office of Professional Responsibility and my boss and everyone connected with the case say it wasn’t my fault, but I still feel responsible. I still ask myself what I could have done differently so that she’d still be alive today. I bear that guilt inside of me every day of my life.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What’s one thing you won’t leave home without?

[Miguel Sanchez] My wallet and it’s not just because it has my credit cards and things like that. I have pictures of my sister and other family members in there and I feel like they are with me if I have my wallet. I left them behind in Atlanta after the incident where the civilian got killed and I miss them, but I know that coming to New York was a way for me to get on with my life. I’m glad I did because I’m working on an important case and I’ve met Helene, my new partner. She totally intrigues me and exasperates me!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you like to do to when you aren’t tracking down serial killers?

[Miguel Sanchez] I’m just an average Joe. I like sports and good food. Time with a nice woman and maybe even a relationship with one. Like Helene.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you share your dreams for the future in five words or less.

[Miguel Sanchez] Work promotion. Marriage. Kids. Home in the suburbs. The American Dream.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Thank you!

[Miguel Sanchez] Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better.

About the book

FBI Special Agent Helene Alexander is a goddess.  An actual frickin’ goddess. And her mission is clear, see that justice is served at all times or her days as a goddess are numbered. Helene’s new FBI partner defines good-looking, but Miguel Sanchez, wants nothing to do with her ends-justify-the-means attitude. He knows through experience the type of guilt her actions can bring and Miguel wants nothing to do with Helene’s careless ways. Even if she’s so damned hot she makes him burn with the need. When the serial killer they’re tracking strikes again, Helene and Miguel are drawn into a case that will challenge their most fundamental beliefs about justice and vengeance. But it’s the passion between them that forces a goddess to choose: eternal life with all her powers…or death—to save the man she loves.
