Please give a warm welcome to guest Lynne Silver. Lynne is celebrating the release of her geek romance Love, Technically.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Describe yourself in 140 characters or less.
[Lynne Silver] My 140 Twitter profile is this: Perpetual tourist, craves designer purses, can kick butt in Go Fish, and author of some hot books for Ellora’s Cave & Entangled.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you tell us a little about Love, Technically?
[Lynne Silver] Love, Technically takes place in a hip technology start-up and features the CEO of the company and a newbie employee. Michelle’s a small town girl overwhelmed by the big city of Chicago. She’s so naïve, she doesn’t even realize the cute guy flirting with her is the CEO.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?
[Lynne Silver] I wrote Love, Technically after Entangled put out a call for “geek” stories. Having been married to a computer whiz for 16 years, I knew I needed to write about us. I set the story at a fictionalized version of a technology company we worked for in 2000. The company had just gone public and it was the epitome of the DotCom era with bean bag chairs, foosball tables and adrenaline.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three words best describe Noah?
[Lynne Silver] vUber-smart, sweet, athletic
[Manga Maniac Cafe] If Michelle had a theme song, what would it be?
[Lynne Silver] The theme song from Mary Tyler Moore or Sex & the City
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name one thing Michelle is never without.
[Lynne Silver] Make-up in her purse
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three things will you never find in Noah’s bathroom?
[Lynne Silver] Hair gel, tampons, Axe body spray
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What are your greatest creative influences?
[Lynne Silver] My favorite romance novels, a sunny day.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three things do you need in order to write?
[Lynne Silver] A quiet spot, my snuggie & wristies, and sunlight
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What was your biggest distraction while working on Love, Technically?
[Lynne Silver] I wrote it on vacation using an iPad- so the lack of keyboard, my 2 kids clamoring to come play and the beach were hard to contend with.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What is the last book that you read that knocked your socks off?
[Lynne Silver] I loved MacRieve by Kresley Cole, Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh, and I just read Moonglow by Kristen Callihan- the world building is amazing.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you had to pick one book that turned you on to reading, which would it be?
[Lynne Silver] I’ve been a voracious reader since childhood, so it would be my childhood series- Little House on the Prairie, The Betsy-Tacy books by Maud Hart Lovelace and A Little Princess.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?
[Lynne Silver] Hang out with my kids and husband. I love to travel- I like to be in new places. I hate the airplane ride of getting there. Luckily I live in Washington, DC, a very cool city and there’s always something new to explore.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] How can readers connect with you?

About the Author:
By day, Lynne Silver lives the suburban soccer mom life; volunteering with the PTA, doing laundry and working. By night she enters the sensuous world of alpha males and passionate heroines.
She calls the nation’s capital home and lives in an old fixer-upper with her husband and their two sons. When not writing romance, she reads it. Lots of it. Over and over and over again, preferably with a bag of M&Ms in hand.
She is represented by literary agent, Jessica Alvarez of Bookends LLC
Fun Facts about Lynne:
1. She has no sense of direction and could get lost on her way from the kitchen to the bathroom.
2. She grew up in Miami and is a huge Hurricanes fan. (The football team, not the natural disaster.)
3. Speaking of natural disasters…she lived through Hurricane Andrew, though her car and much of her house did not. To this day she is scared of storms and windy days.
4. Lynne eats a lot of sushi and considers herself a bit of a connoisseur. She and her husband considered writing a sushi guide at one time.
