The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba of The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This is a weekly meme where we can share news of the week and highlight new books received. This week I received my August Glam bag. I enjoy getting these sample kits, but I have to admit that I was frustrated this month. My credit card is charged on the 1st of the month, and this month, my order wasn’t shipped until the 10th. I didn’t receive it until the 17th. I am not a very patient individual, and the length of time it took before I received my Glam bag this month drove me nuts. I guess that is just an indication of how much I enjoy ripping into these. I make sure that I avoid spoilers from people how receive their shipments before me, because I like being surprised when I open the shiny pink foil envelope. When I receive it so late, though, it’s hard to avoid seeing what everyone else received. Here are the contents of August’s My Glam Bag.
First up is the bag itself.
This month’s theme is Endless Summer. I like this bag and find the colors a lot of fun. It’s orange mesh with trim on the top, and a pink zipper. I think I am going to use this to hold the brushes in my makeup kit.
Next up are the goods.
There is another full size bottle of Circus nail polish this month, and I like the color much better than the white from last month. This is Spectacle, and yes, it is as loud as can be! It’s a vivid orange to match the bag, and the picture doesn’t really do its brightness justice. I like that these are packaged in plastic tubes; I re-use the packaging in my show kit, to hold hair pins, etc. The nail polish is a win this month.
Next up is My Glam Gloss. This is another win. It’s a full size sample and was immediately tossed into my purse. I love lip gloss and always have some with me.
There is a small sample of Salty Cosmetics Glama-ZOID shadow. This is a loose powder, and it’s shimmery and iridescent. I was disappointed with it until I looked it up on Salty Cosmetics’ webpage, and now I am eager to try it. I have packed it in my show bag to try at the next horse show (which is really the only place I wear makeup. Yes, I agree, that makes no sense. The horses don’t care whether I wear it or not!)
Next up are skin care products
There is a small sample of Clean Skin roll on perfume oil. I am kind of meh about this, but I’m going to keep it in my desk at the office for when I need a little pick-me-up after a stressful day. Maybe smelling nice will lift my battered spirits. Who knows.
There are two samples from Eclos – Anti-aging Regenerative Cream and Anti-aging Face serum. I love how these smell! I’ll let you know next month what I think of them.
My favorite product from last month’s bag is Kiehl’s facial lotion. Love this stuff!

Wow! Those are some great looking books! I received a copy of The King’s Damsel too. I love all the beauty goodies you got! I’m a big fan of Eclos eye cream, though I haven’t tried any of their other products.
Enjoy!
Diana – My Sunday Post
You got a great variety of books. I’ll have to let a friend know that the last Maximum Ride is coming. I read the first one and didn’t feel any need to continue. James Patterson and I aren’t very compatible.
I don’t wear make-up at all but think your glam bag does sound like fun.
My new books posts are here and here. Happy reading!
Awesome haul this week! You always get such lovely books to read. I have already added a few of these to my TBR list.
Happy Reading,
Dani
