Follow Friday Blog Hop–August 12-14th

If you are new to the #FF fun, Feature & Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, Rachel of Parajunkee and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!  Click here and here for this week’s hops.

This week’s question:

Q. How has your reading habits changed since you were a teen? or If you are still a teen what new genres are you in love with currently?

I read more YA and MG books now than when I was a teen!  I think that it is funny that I waited until I was an adult to read books intended for a younger audience.  When I was a kid I loved fantasy and science fiction, especially Piers Anthony, Orson Scott Card, Sheri Tepper, Philip Jose Farmer, and Octavia Butler (and I still read most of them now!).  I love, love, loved Elizabeth Peters, regencies,  category romances (Harlequin, Loveswept, Candlelight, Silhouette), and historical (hysterical) romance novels.  I am discovering that I still do.

Now that I am a bit older, I read everything!  Picture books, chapter books, MG, and YA.  There are so many good books that I despair about missing some really good ones!  There are just too many books to get to all of them, though, but I will keep trying!  I have also started reading Harlequin romances again, and I am delving into paranormal romances and urban fantasy.  I love graphic novels, too.

I have a question for you – what is the best book you’ve read lately? Please leave recommendations in the comments – I love hearing about good books!

I also read more YA than I did as a teen. I mostly read school books and Tolkien as a teen. I never read manga until I was 22. So weird!

    Have a great weekend!

I love that most readers are less picky as an adult. It makes for a better choice in reviews to read. :)

The best book I’ve read recently is Everneath by Brodi Ashton, but it doesn’t come out until January.

    Hey Julie,

I really enjoyed reading Black Swan Rising by Lee Carroll, my review is over here. It’s an adult urban fantasy, but it still feels like it could be young adult. The sequel to it “The Watchtower” was released this month, I’m still waiting on mine to turn up in the mail.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m already following you :)
