Cover Shot! Birthmarked & Prized by Caragh M. O’Brien

I enjoyed Birthmarked last year, and I’m looking forward to the next book in the trilogy.  The cover for Prized is so pretty!  I love the colors and the shapes, and the different textures, as well.  The soft smoke and the hard, unyielding wood make a visually appealing contrast – I can hardly wait to see this in person!  I like title font, too, and how it pops off the cover.

Synopsis:

In the thrilling follow up to Birthmarked, sixteen-year-old midwife Gaia Stone has fled from the Enclave and now must fight for her baby sister’s survival in the matriarchal society of Sylum.

Striking out into the wasteland with nothing but her baby sister, a handful of supplies, and a rumor to guide her, 16-year-old midwife Gaia Stone survives only to be captured by the people of Sylum, a dystopian society where women rule the men who drastically outnumber them, and a kiss is a crime. In order to see her sister again, Gaia must submit to their strict social code, but how can she deny her sense of justice, her curiosity, and everything in her heart that makes her whole?

In stores November 2011

Here’s the new cover for Birthmarked – I love it, for all of the reasons that I like the cover for Prized.  The textures and the title font look so cool!

Beautiful covers!! I liked the original cover for Birthmarked a lot, but this one is just as gorgeous. And Prized is positively pulchritudinous. (Never thought I’d have much cause to use that word.) :)
