Teaser Tuesday–Read-a-Thon Edition!

I participated in the 24 Hour Read-a-Thon last weekend, and I read some good stuff!  Here are some teasers from two of the books that I finished.

Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin is one of the best books I have read this year.  You get two teasers because I loved it so much!

“Minli nodded and asked no more.  She realized she was having a conversation with a goldfish, which was very unusual, so she decided to listen.”

Teaser two:

“You know where Never-Ending Mountain is?” the dragon asked. “I thought to see the Old Man of the Moon was impossible. You must be very wise to know how to find him.”

“Not really,” Minli said. “I got the directions from  a goldfish.”

Yes, this book rocked, and it rocked hard. Go read it.  Read it now!

I also liked The Grave Robber’s Secret by Anna Myers.  It’s a very suspenseful MG read with a protagonist you are going to love.

“Robby felt irritated. Martha had been allowed to get away with not answering a question asked by her elder.  Ma wouldn’t put up with that from him.”

Robby already knows that life isn’t fair, so that shouldn’t have surprised him!
