Book Blogger Hop and Follow Friday – December 17 – 20

While you’re hopping through, please take a look at my current contests!! Everyone needs more books, right??

It’s Friday! Time to discover new blogs to follow! Blog Hop is a meme held every weekend and it is hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books. It’s a great way to find book blogs that you might now know about.

Question of the Week:

What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?

I think that they go hand in hand.  If I don’t like the characters, I’m not going to care what happens to them, and if the plot doesn’t engage me, I’m not going to like the characters.  They are equally important to me, though I guess I will suffer through a boring plot if the characters have some personality.  That’s a tough question!

Parajunkee is hosting Follow Friday, which is another fun way to meet new bloggers. Check out Parajunkee’s blog here. If you are visiting from the Blog Hop, please leave a comment so I can stop by your blog to say hi!

Question of the week:

What did you study in college, or are currently studying and did it lead to your current 9 to 5 or are you doing something totally different?

I have a degree in accounting, and I guess I am technically an accountant,  though I also do many other job tasks that are totally unrelated to my field of study.  My 9 to 5 is really 6 to 5 (ugh), and you would be surprised by how many different  activities you can pack into that time block.  The only thing I hate to do?  Empty out the refrigerators.   If I don’t do it, nobody else will, and I am seriously afraid of what horrors will jump out of there and attack me one day…

If you are visiting for the hop, please leave a link so I can hop back!

I had such a hard time with today’s question. I also don’t think you can have one without the other. But, the characters are what usually keep me reading and why I invest my time in the book.

Thanks for hopping by my blog. I totally agree with you that they are both important, but characters can make a huge difference.

I would be terrified to discover what is kept in my office’s refrigerator … hence I never bring food that can be refrigerated … I’m scared of it.

This might be the best Book Blogger Hop question I’ve seen to date.

So what’s the answer? Plot! Hop over to my blog and let me tell you how a good plot rescued bad characters from bad book oblivion.

    Hi hi!
I agree about being able to trudge through a less-than-spectacular plot if the characters are standout. Though indeed, both elements are important.
    Cheers!
