Book Blogger Hop & Follow Friday November 5th – 7th

While you’re hopping through, please take a look at my current contests!! Everyone needs more books, right??

It’s Friday! Time to discover new blogs to follow! Blog Hop is a meme held every weekend and it is hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books. It’s a great way to find book blogs that you might now know about.

Question of the week:

What are your feelings on losing followers? Have you ever stopped following a blog?

While I don’t like to lose followers, I won’t change the way I write, or the things that I write about, just to keep them.  I maintain this blog to blow off steam from work and real life, and because I enjoy doing it.  If people enjoy reading it, than I am super geeked when they follow me.  Like Jennifer says, though, there is a difference between GFC followers, and people who take part in active discussion on posts.  I appreciate when I get comments, and they prompt me to follow the commenter’s blog and comment on their posts.

I usually only stop following blogs if they aren’t updated regularly.  I love to subscribe to receive email updates, and that is how I keep current with the blogs I follow.  If you don’t have the option on your blog for followers to subscribe to receive email updates, please consider adding it.

Parajunkee is hosting Follow Friday, which is another fun way to meet new bloggers. Check out Parajunkee’s blog here. If you are visiting from the Blog Hop, please leave a comment so I can stop by your blog to say hi!

Question of the week:

Who are your favorite authors??

I have so many this is a hard question to answer.  Just a few include – Sherri Tepper, Orson Scott Card, George RR Martin, Elizabeth Peters, Octavia Butler, Nancy Springer, Robin McKinley, Patricia McKillip, Diana Wynne Jones – there are about a gabillion more.  Seriously!  Who are some of your favorites?

I agree with you that it sucks losing a follower but I’m not going to change my writing style or blog as a result (unless there was a mass exodus lol!). I’m pretty sure you’re already a follower… I’ve been meaning to stop by so here I am! A few of my favorite authors include Kelley Armstrong, Rachel Vincent and Keri Arthur.

I’m your newest follower from the hop! You can check out my answers to this week’s questions at Rabid Reads or follow me on Twitter. Have a great weekend!

I’m always a little bummed when I lose followers but make every effort to
turn every lost follower into a learning experience so I can improve my
    performance.

On the flip side, I only stop following people when they give me a reason to
such as being totally off message or being too controversial in an negative,
    over-the-top way.

    Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

I am totally with you on not changing what you read or how you review just to keep followers. I sincerely believe that if you enjoy what you are doing it will show .I also think blogging is a great stress release!

Popping in belatedly to say hi, and thanks for hopping over to my blog via the blog hop, nice to read other blogs with similar tastes, and I agree, don’t change who you are just to please others…it comes across better if you say it how you want to :)
