On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted at Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It’s a way to share your wishlist with the rest of the blogsphere. The books can be old, new or forthcoming, but my lists will be limited to already released titles. If you would like to join in and post your wishlist, click here for more information.
Reincarnation by Suzanne Weyn looks so good! Starcrossed lovers is one of my favorite themes, and this pair of love struck souls cross several centuries and lifetimes in an attempt to find happiness together. How can you resist that?
From prehistory to the present, theirs was a love for the ages. It starts with a fight in a cave over an elusive green jewel . . . and then travels over time and lives to include Egyptian slaves, Greek temples, Massachusetts witch trials, Civil War battlefields, Paris on the eve of World War II, America in the 1960s . . . and a pair of modern-day teenagers. For readers who believe that love is stronger than time or death, this is an unforgettable novel from a wonderful storyteller.
My manga wish is more of a licensing plea. I wish someone would grab the rights to Sailor Moon and give it the release it deserves. No name changes or story edits, just Usagi and company fighting evil and finding love with all of the magical girl corniness that makes the series so great. There are a couple of publishers that would do a great job with it, and I hope that with all of the renewed interest in the series, someone has already snagged it. That would be a great announcement to hear at San Diego, don’t you think?
