Teaser Tuesday – Brightly Woven and Arata

I’m always up for a new game, so I thought it would be fun to participate in Teaser Tuesdays.  For a full description of what it is, check the bottom of this post.

In Alexandra  Bracken’s BRIGHTLY WOVEN, Sydelle’s day gets off to a bad start when she finds out that she’s been given to the young wizard who made it rain, ending a 10 year drought in her village.

“He patted my head fondly, the way my father sometimes did, and the knot in my stomach became unbearable.   The only thing keeping me from tears was the confusion and the anger I felt toward North.” page 98

In Yuu Watase’s ARATA, Arata is having a really bad day, too!  He’s told he has to pretend to be a girl for the rest of his life! What?!

“Arata! As of today, you‘re a woman!” page 16

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
