Curses! Power Woes Strike Again!

I regret to inform you that any regularly scheduled posting has been derailed by another power outage!!  Just as I was picking up steam on another panel report from ACen, a storm from hell, complete with hail and viciously whipping winds,  threw us back into the stone ages!  I hate being without power, mainly because we are on a well, so in addition to no happy currents racing through the circuitry, we are also water deprived as well.

Though this unexpected inconvenience put a damper on the posting for the evening, I was able to watch an episode of Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, which somehow ended up on my laptop.  Too bad the battery hadn’t been charged after ACen!  One episode was about all I could milk out the battery, and I’ll admit I was feeling a little bitter about the prospect of trying to get ready for work in the dark the next morning.

Speaking of batteries, it’s funny how whenever the power goes out, we can never find a flashlight with working batteries.  We have 2 rechargeable flashlights that no longer hold a charge and need to be replaced, and I bought a five pack of flashlights a while ago, but only one of the flashlights could be located in the dim aftermath of the storm.  Maybe if I had bought a 10 pack, we would have had a little light tonight!  Naturally, the one that I found lasted just long enough for a trip into the basement to dump a load of dirty clothes into the hamper.  *sigh*

Any way, it appears that I only lost a portion of the post that I was working on, but with the power not returning until after my bedtime (give me a break!  I have to get up at 4:30!), I won’t be able to finish it until tomorrow.  Please check back then for more exciting Anime Central coverage!

In a personal note to DTE Energy, is it too much for me to ask that you maintain a stable power supply to my home?  At least service was restored within 4 hours, as opposed to the usual 2 to 3 days!

Ummm, does this happen a lot in Michigan? You’re in Michigan, right? Also, that Wallflower news rules!

For whatever reason, we live in a power void.  If the wind blows too hard, we loose power.  There are lots and lots of trees in Michigan, and the power lines are above ground.  If they don’t aggressively trim back the branches (which they don’t in my "rural" neighborhood), they take out power lines when they snap off the trees.

Did I forget to warn you about this?  Just kidding, you will be fine in A2, barring the unexpected ice storm or two :)
