Title: Sword of the Dark Ones #2
Author: Kotobuki Tsukasa from the story by Yasui Kentaro
Publisher: CMS
ISBN: 1401206484
Harman Cartel, convinced that Leroy Schwartz is the partner he’s been looking for, fails to sway the former mercenary to his side. Instead, determined to prove that Leroy is a beast like himself, he attacks him, hoping to draw out the darkness that lurks within him. The sword, Ragnarok, hurries in his human form to intervene, afraid of the consequences should Leroy’s other side be drawn out. As the fight intensifies, Leroy teeters closer to the brink of losing control of his humanity. Will he be able to keep his inner darkness in check?
This volume was basically one long, drawn out fight. I’m not saying that’s bad, because I happen to like that kind of thing, especially when there’s occasional blood and guts flying through the pages. It also helps that Leroy looks great without a shirt,(but he wasn’t terribly attractive with those unfashionable horns!) and Ragnarok cuts a fairly dashing figure himself. There’s not much in the way of a plot, just the usual hero trying to retain control over his humanity, but it’s still an enjoyable romp.
