The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves–Summer’s Over??

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba of The Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  This is a weekly meme where we can share news of the week and highlight new books received.

I can’t believe it’s almost Labor Day weekend!  Summer flew by this year.  The berries are already falling off the tree in the back yard, a sure sign that fall is coming.  It was a rather mild summer, which was a good thing when the air conditioner decided to play dead last weekend.  With temps in the 50s at night, it wasn’t too uncomfortable, and the repair company had us back up and running by noon on Monday.  A fuse in the unit blew, and it needed Freon (which is stupidly expensive!).  It’s been hot and humid since Wednesday, so the timing couldn’t have been better.  It’s usually the other way around when we have to have something repaired, so I was so grateful not to be swimming in pools of sweat!

Do you have any plans for Labor Day weekend?  I want to just stay home and read, with breaks for lunch at a few favorite restaurants.  I also have a coupon for Yogurt City that I’m saving for then.  I’ll have to walk extra time on the treadmill after that!

Skinwalker looks interesting. And cheap to boot! Sorry about the AC going out. That’s the worst. Temps have been in the 100s here this week so we would have DIED! Or more likely we probably would have just lived in the pool until they could get it fixed. But yeah, I can’t believe Labor Day is almost here. I definitely plan to RELAX! We’ve been busy busy for several weeks now and I think taking it easy will be perfect! Hope you have a great week!

I’m refusing to admit next weekend is Labor Day weekend so no plans yet! Saturday is my husband’s birthday so we’ll probably go to dinner and try and do something fun but that’s about as adventurous as we’re getting! Great books this week! I’ve read one Tessa Dare that I’ve enjoyed but I definitely need to read more of her books! Have a great week!

I may be the only one excited for summer to end. I’m looking forward to hot cider, pumpkin in everything and just cuddling up and reading a book.

Our AC died last year and it was muggy and hot- not a good time! We had to get a whole new unit. 🙁 This year has been much milder, I like summer much better this way!

Our plans for the long weekend are to pretty much hang out at home or maybe hit the beach one last time. Enjoy the holiday.

@Sandy – It’s supposed to be hot and humid this week, so I’m glad it died last week. Thanks for dropping by!

@Katherine – It seems like summer just started! I can’t believe the buses will be back on the roads next week. Ugh! Enjoy your dinner and have a great week!

@Kristin – I love all things pumpkin, but I dread the cold weather that quickly follows it. Though I don’t feel as bad when I just sit and read during the colder months. Thanks for dropping by!

@Greg – I was afraid we would have to replace the unit, but the repair guy was able to work his magic on it. We just replaced the furnace, so I don’t think a new A/C in in the budget 🙁

    Have a great week!

@Jillyn – I was happy to grab it – I’ve been wanting to read the series for a long time!

    Thanks for stopping by!
