Interview with Kimberly Loth, Author of Kissed

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Good morning, Kimberly! Describe yourself in five words or less.

[Kimberly Loth] Adventurous mom who loves chocolate.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you tell us a little about Kissed?

[Kimberly Loth] Sure. Kissed is about a sixteen-year-old girl, Naomi, who is rescued from a dreadful arranged marriage by the mysterious Kai who sends her off to Vegas with a sweet kiss and a promise of only a short time apart. There Naomi meets Puck, a boy with wine colored hair and kisses that rival Kai’s. Soon Naomi is swept into a glamorous world where kisses hold power and not is all is at it first appears.

[Manga Maniac Cafe]  Can you share your favorite scene?

[Kimberly Loth] I have lots of those. Probably the one I love the most though is after she is sent to Vegas. Her aunt (who is crazy fashionista) decides to give Naomi an ultimate makeover. She takes her to a hair salon where things do not go as planned and Naomi ends up with green hair. It was one of my favorite scenes to write because it was so fun.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What gave you the most trouble with the story?

[Kimberly Loth] Kissed combines a horrific story of a creepy cult and a sweet paranormal romance. It was so difficult to find a good balance and make them work well together.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What’s one thing you won’t leave home without?

[Kimberly Loth] My computer.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name three things on your desk right now.

[Kimberly Loth] M and M’s. Bottle of water. Scattered paper.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you could trade places with anyone for just one day, who would you be?

[Kimberly Loth] Liam Hemworth’s girlfriend. (That’s not Miley anymore, right? Because I wouldn’t want to be her. But I’d like to be his girlfriend.)

[Manga Maniac Cafe] You have been granted the use of one superpower for one week.  Which power would you choose, and what would you do with it?

[Kimberly Loth] Invisibility. I’d go behind the scenes to all those places you aren’t allowed to go. I travel all the time and I know there are such cool things hidden behind closed doors in museums, castles, and pyramids (though at the pyramids you can bribe people to take to you those places.)

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What are some books that you enjoyed recently?

[Kimberly Loth] The Shadow and the Rose by Amanda DeWees, Divergent by Veronica Roth, Stubborn by Jeanne Arnold

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How can readers connect with you?

[Kimberly Loth] Facebook is probably the best way, www.facebook.com/kimberlylothbooks. I use twitter as well, @kimberlyloth. If you want to email me, my email address is kimberlyloth@gmail.com

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Thank you!
