[Manga Maniac Cafe] Good morning, Yolanda! Describe yourself in five words or less.
[Yolanda Sfetsos] Passionate. Writer. Dreamer. Bibliophile. Strange.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you tell us a little about Torn From the Shadows?
A lot of bad things happen to Sierra and the people she cares about the most in this installment. There are several things she needs to do that she’s reluctant to deal with, and wishes she could put off. But her life has become one complicated problem after another, so Sierra knows she needs to roll with the punches.
Her relationship with Papan is deeper, as is her connection with her half-sister. Oh, and we finally find out what her grandmother’s secret really means.
Also, if you were wondering about Papan’s werewolf past, this is when it comes back to bite him in the worst possible way.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
[Yolanda Sfetsos] I wrote the first draft during NaNoWriMo 2012, so I enjoyed writing it while taking part in something I try to do every year. Besides, I love returning to Sierra’s world.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What gave you the most trouble with this story?
[Yolanda Sfetsos] Some of the things that Papan and Sierra go through as a couple, because as great as their relationship is…there’s always something/someone ready to screw things up.
There’s also a character that I really like that goes through a bit of a transformation in this book, and I felt sorry for him/her. 😉
[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you had a theme song, what would it be?
[Yolanda Sfetsos] Oh gosh, this is a good question…but I don’t think I have a theme song. Though when I asked my husband, he reckons it’s the Wonder Woman theme song. You know the one from the old TV series? LMAO.
That’s probably because I love WW, and enjoy humming the tune. 😉
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What’s one thing you won’t leave home without?
[Yolanda Sfetsos] I never leave without my USB drive. I take that thing with me everywhere! I don’t like carrying handbags and usually fill my pockets with what I need—keys, lip balm, phone and USB.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name three things on your desk right now.
[Yolanda Sfetsos] My Galaxy Note 3, my journal and a pencil case full of coloured pens!
[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you could trade places with anyone for just one day, who would you be?
[Yolanda Sfetsos] You know, I’m going to be boring and say that I wouldn’t want to trade places with anyone. I always cringe when I read/watch stories where people switch bodies or are possessed by someone/something else. It makes me uncomfortable. So, no, I wouldn’t do the trade thing. Not even for one day.
Well, unless it was with Wonder Woman. 😉
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What are some books that you enjoyed recently?
[Yolanda Sfetsos] I just caught up on The Walking Dead comic books, so I really enjoyed those. But the one book that really stands out right now is WRITTEN IN RED by Anne Bishop. I borrowed it from the library and absolutely loved it. So much that I ordered the paperback version. It was an outstanding UF story!
Oh, and I read the first Nikki Heat book by Richard Castle, which I enjoyed a lot.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] How can readers connect with you?

Sierra Fox, Book 4
Sierra Fox knows better than to believe the demon-obsessed freakshow has given up on her. She’s settled into a nice routine of living with her sister, enjoying her relationship with a sexy werewolf, and staying on top of work—and always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Predictably, things start falling apart as she’s suddenly swamped with surprise visits and unwanted advances, and someone she despises wants her help.
When a spook-catching training session goes horribly wrong, she encounters a man who’s not quite as dead as she’d hoped. Mace is now more than human and still determined to get his hands on her. But not if Sierra accepts the strengthening gifts her grandmother bestowed at her birth.
Having the good guys put a price on her head is enough to ruin anyone’s day, but Sierra refuses to give up or give in. Even if it means exercising the last option on earth she wants. But claiming the ultimate power may not be enough to save the man she loves before his werewolf past destroys him.
Warning: Phantasms, pookas, werewolves, and demons, oh yes! And a spook-catching heroine who must choose to take what’s rightfully hers—even if it means walking the shadows with a demon.
