Interview with Christy English, Author of Much Ado About Jack and Giveaway

[Manga Maniac Café] Good morning, Christy!  Describe yourself in five words or less.

[Christy English] Funny, irreverent, serious, imaginative, joyful

[Manga Maniac Café] Can you tell us a little about Much Ado About Jack?

[Christy English] Angelique, one of my favorite characters of all time, finally gets to take center stage in this book and find the love of her life. She is a woman who has seen it all, a jaded mistress who got tossed aside by Anthony Carrington like cheap Christmas trash. In MUCH ADO ABOUT JACK, she meets a man who loves her for herself, a man who can see her and respect her for who she is, a man who can love her as an equal. And did I mention, the man in question (Captain “Jack”) is HOT

[Manga Maniac Café] How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?

[Christy English] Angelique appeared in the first draft of HOW TO TAME A WILFULL WIFE, and I thought “This woman is incredible. Why would anyone leave her?” When I got a chance to write her story, I thought, “I wonder who is amazing enough to be this woman’s equal?” And as soon as I thought that, Captain “Jack” showed up.

[Manga Maniac Café] If you had a theme song, what would it be?

[Christy English] Super Freak

[Manga Maniac Café] Name one thing you won’t leave home without

[Christy English] Chocolate

[Manga Maniac Café] Name three things on desk right now.

[Christy English] An amethyst stone, a scene of a Japanese bridge, and a card from a friend that says “A book is a garden that you carry in your pocket.”

[Manga Maniac Café] Name some books that you enjoyed recently?

[Christy English] THE TEMPTATION OF LADY SERENA by Ella Quinn, DOUGLAS: LORD OF HEARTACHE by Grace Burrowes and JEWEL OF THE EAST by Victoria Vane.

[Manga Maniac Café] What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?

[Christy English] I love to hike, when it’s warm. I love to eat nachos year round, and I love to shop for books. Bookstores are my best friend.

[Manga Maniac Café] How can readers connect with you?

[Christy English] I love chatting with readers on my blog http://www.ChristyEnglish.com , on Twitter https://twitter.com/ChristyEnglish , or on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/christy.english.779

[Manga Maniac Café] Than you!

About the book:

MUCH ADO ABOUT JACK BY CHRISTY ENGLISH – IN STORES FEBRAURY 2014

How to Become London’s Most Notorious Widow:

1. Vow to NEVER remarry

2. Own a ship and become fabulously wealthy

3. Wear the latest risqué fashions in your signature color

4. Do NOT have a liaison at the Prince Regent’s palace with a naval captain whose broad shoulders and green eyes make you forget Rule #1

Angelique Beauchamp, the widowed Countess of Devonshire, has been twice burned by love, and she is certain that no man will ever touch her heart again. But that doesn’t mean she can’t indulge a little—and it would be hard to find a more perfect dalliance than one with the dashing Captain James Montgomery.

After a brief torrid affair, James tries to forget Angelique and his undeniable thirst for more. The luscious lady was quite clear that their liaison was temporary. But for the first time, the lure of the sea isn’t powerful enough to keep him away…

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Christy English is happiest when she is dreaming. Her dreams have taken her to the royal court of Henry II in THE QUEEN’S PAWN, to medieval Paris in TO BE QUEEN, and now to Regency England in MUCH ADO ABOUT JACK, LOVE ON A MIDSUMMER NIGHT, and HOW TO TAME A WILFULL WIFE, where she loves to watch her characters find true love, often in spite of themselves. I enjoy this series! I have read the first two books in the series and I really want to read more about Angelique. I will be honest, I hated her in book one. Maybe hated is too harsh but I dislike her so much though but my feelings improve in book 2.
