Interview with Sherilee Gray, Author of Lone Wolf’s Captive

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Hi, Sherilee!  Describe yourself in five words or less.

[Sherilee Gray] Determined, creative, nervous nelly, emotional, loyal.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you tell us a little about Lone Wolf’s Captive?

[Sherilee Gray] Sure! Fletcher is a packless alpha wolf and a loner (hence the title!). He was thrown from his pack as a cub and met my heroine Delaney, when they were just kids. They grew to love each other, but were torn apart before they could become mates. After some wrong decisions while out on his own, Fletch decides it’s better if he stays away from her—Until some seriously ugly circumstances force his hand and he has no choice but to go after her—whether she wants to be caught or not!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?

[Sherilee Gray] I often come up with ideas and characters when I go to bed at night. That’s how I came up with Fletch and Delaney’s story. The first scene when he’s waiting for her to walk out of her building so he can make his move *rubs hands together* came to me when I was drifting off to sleep. Of course then you have to fly out of bed and grab pen and paper before it drifts away again!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

[Sherilee Gray] My writing often veers towards the darker side. But I had some fun with this one, letting a bit of my warped sense of humor peak through.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What gave you the most trouble with this story?

[Sherilee Gray] Keeping Delaney’s reaction to seeing Fletch again as believable as possible. I wanted all that hurt and betrayal front and center, but without going over the top. It’s a balance I often struggle with.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you had a theme song, what would it be?

[Sherilee Gray] It’s hard to choose! Though being quite an emotional sort, my theme song would probably change daily. I’ve been listening to a lot of Kings of Leon lately. So today? (after paying a heap of bills)Um…No money! lol

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What’s one thing you won’t leave home without?

[Sherilee Gray] My phone! The thing is permanently attached to my hand. I have a problem.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name three things on your desk right now.

[Sherilee Gray] Note book, a glass of water and bills!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you could trade places with anyone for just one day, who would you be?

[Sherilee Gray] Joe Manganiello’s girlfriend.

Ha! I’m only joking…

Yeah, not really…

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What are some books that you enjoyed recently?

[Sherilee Gray] Reapers Legacy by Joanna Wylde and Immortal Rider by Larissa Ione.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?

[Sherilee Gray] I write while my kids are at school, so any time not writing is usually spent with them. Of course I also read a whole lot as well, and I also enjoy baking, preferably something with chocolate as the main ingredient!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How can readers connect with you?

[Sherilee Gray] Website:

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Thank you!

About the book:

He let her father chase him off once, but this time nothing is getting in his way.
Fletcher Stone was forced out of the pack life, and now he makes his living as a hired thug, living day-to-day without honour or commitments. Shame over his choices and his lifestyle keep him from returning to the pack to claim Delaney — the woman who holds his heart. But when a rival pack hires him to kidnap her, Fletcher takes his chance. Now he must convince her that he never wanted to leave…and reveal a betrayal that will break her heart.
Delaney Jones has spent the last five years convinced the man she loves is dead. Nothing else would keep him from her. So when Fletcher shows up, whole, healthy, and very much alive, she’s devastated — and pissed off. He broke her heart once and he’s never going to get close enough to do it again.
