Interview with Scarlett Dawn, Author of King Cave

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Good morning, Scarlett! Describe yourself in five words or less.

[Scarlett Dawn] I imagine the impossible.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you tell us a little about King Cave?

[Scarlett Dawn] King Cave is the second novel in the Forever Evermore Trilogies. It starts right where King Hall leaves off, right in the action.

Lily’s story continues with the three other Prodigies.

What would war be without death, right? But was would love be without discovery? It’s all there. In this new adult fantasy novel.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?

[Scarlett Dawn] Originally, the idea occurred when I was writing another novel. I stopped that WIP and started King Hall. As soon as I began, the world merely unfolded before me.

It was simple. My fingers couldn’t type fast enough. 🙂

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

[Scarlett Dawn] I loved writing the ice-cream parlor scene, and the one directly after it.

That section tore me to bits, so I knew it was good stuff.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you had a theme song, what would it be?

[Scarlett Dawn] Radioactive by Imagine Dragons.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name one thing you won’t leave home without.

[Scarlett Dawn] My laptop.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name three things on your desk right now.

[Scarlett Dawn] Lip balm.

Cup of ice.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name some books that you enjoyed recently?

[Scarlett Dawn] The Apollo Academy by Kimberly P. Chase

White Christmas by Ros Baxter

Jaded Rein by A G Chambers

Daughter of the Blood by Anne Bishop

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?

[Scarlett Dawn] Watch movies. I’m a bit of an addict.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How can readers connect with you?

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Thank you!

About the book:

The long-awaited sequel to the bestselling, award-winning King Hall: the revolution is here, but the most dangerous attack may come from within…
The safe, comfortable world of Lily Ruckler and her fellow Mystical Kings and Queens is rocked to the core by the attacks at King Hall. Not only does Lily have to kill the Commoners attacking her people, she also has to assume the mantle of leadership, and bring the surviving Mysticals to King Cave.
It should have been too much, but she is not alone. Ezra becomes her rock, her best friend, the one person who understands. As Pearl and Jack struggle with inconsolable loss, Ezra and Lily work to keep the Mys community safe in their new home, and plan a deadly retaliation.
Their friendship saves them both…but it also draws attention. Whispers. Judgment. It’s not normal for Shifters and Vampires to be friends, and when a horrifying truth is revealed, their relationship morphs from unusual to unspeakable. Lily is good at keeping secrets that could get her killed. Is she willing to risk Ezra’s life as well?
