Interview with Kathie DeNosky, Author of It Happened One Night

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Good morning, Kathie! Can you describe yourself in five words or less.

[Katie DeNosky] Quirky, loves to laugh, friendly.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you tell us a little about It Happened One Night?

[Katie DeNosky] IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT is the 6th book in the Texas Cattle’s Club: The Missing Mogul mini-series. I started it out a little different than most Desires because I felt it needed a strong plot twist. Apparently it worked, because everyone seems to like it–a lot.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?

[Katie DeNosky] When an author is invited to do a continuity, we’re given the characters, story elements and a basic premise that fits in with the other authors’ books in the continuity. Then we let our imagination take over and put our own unique spin on the story. It’s not always an easy thing to do, but each book’s plot is like a piece of a puzzle that builds to the last book in the continuity where the puzzle is solved and all ends are tied up.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

[Katie DeNosky] I think the thing I most enjoyed about writing this book would have to be the unique twist of making the first scene of the book a love scene. That was one part of the plot that was all my idea. I was just fortunate enough to have an editor who encouraged me to think outside of the box.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What gave you the most trouble with this story?

[Katie DeNosky] I think that would have to be motivating the heroine for not telling the hero about their child. I wanted to make sure that she had a strong reason and to get that across to the reader.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you had a theme song, what would it be?

[Katie DeNosky] It would probably have to be Garth Brooks’, The Dance.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name one thing you won’t leave home without.

[Katie DeNosky] My cell phone.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name three things on your desk right now.

[Katie DeNosky] A water bottle, the outline for the book I’m starting to write today and my trusty radio tuned to my favorite country station.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name some books that you enjoyed recently.

[Katie DeNosky] The Closer You Get by Kristi Gold. It’s a wonderful book about the world of country music. It’s highly emotional and Kristi does a wonderful job of bringing that to life.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?

[Katie DeNosky] I naturally love to read. What writer doesn’t? I also love to weave baskets, crochet, paint and travel. There aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything I love, but I keep trying. LOL

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How can readers connect with you?

[Katie DeNosky] I love to hear from readers! They can contact me through my Facebook page, my website www.kathiedenosky.com or email me at kathie@kathiedenosky.com

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Thank you!

The temptation to mix business and pleasure is undeniable, but it’s Kiley’s devotion to her daughter that has Josh dreaming of a family of his own. But when Josh questions who the little girl’s father really is, will the truth drive them apart or bring them even closer together?
