Please welcome Wendy Drew to the virtual offices this morning!
[Manga Maniac Café] Describe yourself in five words or less.
[Wendy] Love to bargain. Life needs balance, you understand, but who can resist a good bargain?
[Manga Maniac Café] Can you share a typical day in the life of Wendy Drew?
[Wendy] Well, it used to be simple. I would work as head seamstress in the dress shop I co-own, and then I would go to bed to do it again tomorrow. But then my brother got in trouble with Demon Damon, and everything changed. I began working at his gambling den just to help pay off the debt. And when Radley Lyncott came home from sailing to court me, well everything changed. Especially when he suddenly became a duke.
[Manga Maniac Café] What three words come to mind when you think of Radley?
[Wendy] He’s honest to a fault. And that makes him ill-suited to be a nob. He needs someone to watch his back, you understand. To see the evil in the world when he insists on only being good.
[Manga Maniac Café] What do you find most exasperating about him?
[Wendy] It’s usually the women who think people should be given a second chance, that they can change. But he’s too good to see the evil in the world. He wants justice. I just want to be safe. He wants the world to be fair, but I know that the strong make the world unfair. And one good man–no matter how powerful–will only be crushed.
[Manga Maniac Café] If you could change one thing you’ve done in your life, what would it be?
[Wendy] My life has been full of mistakes. I wish I’d destroyed the Demon when I had a chance. I wish I’d taken care of him when he was just Damon. But I didn’t know what he would become.
[Manga Maniac Café] What’s one thing you won’t leave home without?
[Wendy] Radley. Because to my complete surprise, he makes me feel safe. He’s a blind nob at times, and yet I feel safe with him.
[Manga Maniac Café] How do you relax after a hard day creating wedding dresses?
[Wendy] Well, I didn’t used to, of course. There was no relaxing after sewing. Just more sewing and the gaming tables. But now, with Radley showing me some things about…well, about… Blimey, I’ve been told that a lady doesn’t speak about these things. But let me say that Radley knows a great deal about it. And he’s teaching me!
[Manga Maniac Café] Can you share your dreams for the future in five words or less.
[Wendy] There’s too much too consider! Lady Eleanor tells me there’s more for to learn. I don’t know anything about being a duchess. Radley wants children, of course. And he has to set the duchy on its feet, so to speak. And I need to keep an eye on my brother. The power he has now is beyond anything either of us imagined. So, I suppose the answer is: everything, so long as it’s with Radley!
