Review: The Werewolf Tycoon’s Baby by Celia Kyle

May Contain Spoilers

So, these Howls Romances are basically series romance with paranormal characters. I’ve read three so far, to mixed results. All of the heroes were shifters, and that’s fine because I am on a shifter kick, thanks to Kate Daniels and Kitty Norville. I am eating up PNR as fast as I can check out titles, too. I haven’t gone through a PNR or UF phase in a long, long time, so I guess I was about due. Read more

Review: Lure of the Dragon by Anna Lowe

May Contain Spoilers

I have been struggling to finish a book recently. This happens every few months; I begin to feel overwhelmed by Real Life, and I’d rather mindlessly play Crafty Candy than try to concentrate on something to read. When this happens, I usually shift gears to shorter romance, and since I’m in the mood for shifters, I grabbed Lure of the Dragon when it popped up on KU. The promise of balmy island breezes, sandy beaches, and dragons had me hooked.

Review: Wildfire by Ilona Andrews

May contain spoilers

I love this series! Please say there will be more! While I have recently started Ilona Andrews’ Kate Daniels books, and I enjoy them immensely, there is something about the Hidden Legacy series that makes it stand a tier above Kate (Poo Penny will disagree, but she’s read ALL of Kate, and I’ve only listened to the first two audio books).  Oh, wait! That something is Mad Rogan. He’s all that, and he’s only endeared himself to me more as the series continued. And the world building is fascinating. I love the idea of insanely powerful people, gifted with magical abilities, fighting for dominance over the other magical families. Read more

Audio Review: Kitty and the Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn

May Contain Spoilers

I am on an urban fantasy kick, thanks to Ilona Andrews.  Because I don’t want to get burned out on her writing, I decided to grab a few other longer series that I missed out on. I remember getting a review copy of one of the later Kitty Norville novels, but since I hadn’t read any of the previous books, I set it aside. When I saw that the first installment was available as an audio book at the library, I happily clicked Borrow, and the rest is history.

Early Review: Wildfire by Ilona Andrews

Review by Poo Penny

May Contain Spoilers

Dragons. Beasts. Legacies. A teeeeny tiny spoiler, but I don’t think it will ruin anything.
Do I really need to sell this book to you, if you have read Burn for Me and White Hot then you KNOW what to expect, kind of. Except it’s better. It’s more. I just hope that there is another book, or some kind of short story after that epilogue. I need more.

Review: The Cowboy’s Twin Surprise by Cathy McDavid

May Contain Spoilers

Cathy McDavid is one of my favorite Harlequin Western Romance authors.  Her characters are normal, down to earth characters. They could be my neighbors. Not a billionaire in the bunch. It’s so refreshing to read about regular, ordinary people, who make the best of things by working hard, celebrating family, and enjoying the small victories that make each day worth living.
