New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones is the author of the highly acclaimed INSIDE OUT SERIES which has sold to more than twelve countries for translation with negotiations in process for more, and has now been optioned by STARZ Network for a cable television show, to be produced by Suzanne Todd (Alice in Wonderland).
Since beginning her publishing career in 2007, Lisa has published more than 30 books with publishers such as Simon and Schuster, Avon, Kensington, Harlequin, NAL, Berkley and Elloras Cave, as well as crafting a successful indie career. Booklist says that Jones suspense truly sizzles with an energy similar to FBI tales with a paranormal twist by Julie Garwood or Suzanne Brockmann.
Prior to publishing, Lisa owned multi-state staffing agency that was recognized many times by The Austin Business Journal and also praised by Dallas Women Magazine. In 1998 LRJ was listed as the #7 growing women owned business in Entrepreneur Magazine.

Mary Ann Rivers was an English and music major and went on to earn her MFA in creative writing, publishing poetry in journals and leading creative-writing workshops for at-risk youth. While training for her day job as a nurse practitioner, she rediscovered romance on the bedside tables of her favorite patients. Now she writes smart and emotional contemporary romance, imagining stories featuring the heroes and heroines just ahead of her in the coffee line. Mary Ann Rivers lives in the Midwest with her handsome professor husband and their imaginative school-aged son.

ABOUT SERENA BELL (After Midnight)

Serena Bell writes stories about how sex messes with your head, why smart people do stupid things sometimes, and how love can make it all better. She wrote her first steamy romance before she was old enough to understand what all the words meant and has been perfecting the art of hiding pages and screens from curious eyes ever since—a skill that’s particularly useful now that she’s the mother of two school-age children.

Interview with Wendy Lyn Watson, Author of Once Upon a Wallflower and Giveaway!

Thanks to Bewitching Book Tours, Wendy Lyn Watson is visiting the virtual offices this morning to celebrate the release of Once Upon A Wallflower.  She’s going to answer some questions about her new book, and then she has an awesome giveaway for you to enter!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Describe yourself in 140 characters or less.

[Wendy Lyn Watson] Wacky, romantic, clumsy, slightly bossy Midwestern girl, transplanted to Texas and living happily ever after with her very patient hero.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you tell us a little about Once Upon A Wallflower?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] Once Upon a Wallflower blends my love of a good mystery with my passion for historical romance.  Mira Fitzhenry has been engaged to Nicholas, Viscount Ashfield — a man rumored to have murdered three young women.  Mira has to choose between following her head and following her heart, and Nicholas has to choose between protecting Mira and protecting his family.  The impending wedding adds a ticking clock that both Mira and Nicholas must beat if they’re to have their happily-ever-after.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] Honestly?  Mira came to me in a dream.  I had a vivid image, just a snippet of a scene, with a curvy redhead insisting that the man at the foot of the stairs would know she was an imposter.  When I tried (awake) to imagine the man at the foot of the stairs, he was Nicholas:  big, ominous, dark hair, searing eyes.  Everything else just flowed from there.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three words best describe Mira?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] Smart, innocent, stubborn.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If Nicholas had a theme song, what would it be?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] Bon Jovi’s "Dead or Alive."  I’d never thought about it before, but that would definitely be it.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name one thing Mira is never without.

[Wendy Lyn Watson] The locket Nicholas gave her.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three things will you never find in Nicholas’ study?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] Never?  A gun, a clean shirt, a roast squab.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What are your greatest creative influences?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] As much as I’ve read in my life, I’m very visual, and I think movies have had a bigger influence on my creative mind.  "A Room With a View," "Out of Africa," "Mrs. Soffel" … all of these sweeping romances had a huge effect on me.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three things do you need in order to write?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] A quiet room, a Diet Coke, and my laptop.  I’m easy.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What is the last book that you read that knocked your socks off?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] I’ve read a lot of great books over the last year or so, but the last one that completely knocked my socks off was "Spin," by Robert Charles Wilson.  It’s a work of speculative fiction, and I absolutely lost myself in that book

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you had to pick one book that turned you on to reading, which would it be?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] "A Swiftly Tilting Planet" by Madeleine L’Engle.  It’s the third in a series, but it’s my favorite!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] Between writing and my day job (teaching government and advising pre-law students) I don’t have much time.  I spend much of what little free time I have watching movies with my hubs and cooking tasty vegetarian food and lots (too many) baked goods.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How can readers connect with you?

[Wendy Lyn Watson] I’m on Twitter (@wendylynwatson),  Facebook (/wendylynwatsonauthor), and e-mail (  I love to hear from readers, so don’t be shy!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Thank you!

About the Author:

Wendy Lyn Watson writes mysteries of all types: contemporary, historical, and cozy. Whatever the time or the tone, her mysteries always feature a dose of humor and a dollop of romance. Her first cozy series, the Mysteries a la Mode, feature the owner of an ice cream parlor in a small Texas town.

Once Upon a Wallflower, due to be released in August of 2013, is a Regency-set romantic mystery. While Wendy does not commit (or solve) mysteries in real life, she can kill a pint of ice cream in nothing flat. She also enjoys 80s music, Asian horror films, quilting, and vegetarian cooking.

While she was born in Ohio and has called half a dozen states home, she currently lives in a college town in North Texas along with her husband and their three cats (Iphy, Squeak-a-Doodle, and Todd Baryshnikov).

She loves to hear from readers, so find her on Facebook at @wendylynwatsonauthor.

“You talk too much,” he said, his husky growl sending shivers down her spine. “I think we could put that luscious mouth of yours to better use.”

And with that, he drew her into a crushing embrace, his mouth coming down to consume hers. This kiss was unlike any they had shared before, more intense, more passionate, and with a subtle edge of desperation to it.

She melted beneath his onslaught, her body leaning into his of its own accord. As his hands twisted in her still-damp curls, she raised her own to his head, her fingers searching through the soft waves of hair and pulling them free of their queue.

When one of his hands drifted down the side of her face, the curve of her neck, to rest on the swell of her breast, Mira uttered a moaning little cry and surged forward, seeking more of his heat. More of his touch. More, more, more.

And when his hand on her breast moved, brushing over the sharp bud of her nipple, with only the fine wet fabric of her dress between his skin and hers, Mira thought she might die. A whirling dizziness overcame her, and she had to fight for breath.

Emboldened by the fire tearing through her, she let her own hands fall to Nicholas’s chest, and she explored the hard contours of the muscles beneath his shirt. She had never felt anything like his body, so hard yet gently yielding beneath her fingers. So warm and so alive. With a sudden flash of daring, Mira echoed Nicholas’s own caress, brushing her hand across the bulge of his chest, feeling the tight male nipple there.

He sucked air through his teeth and drew back with a sharp laugh. “Oh, Mira-mine,” he groaned, “such a clever, clever girl.”

He rested his forehead against hers, breathing deeply as his racing heart began to slow beneath her hand.

Mira struggled for composure. She had come here to discuss the murders, not to kiss Nicholas…no matter how delightful the kissing was. But he seemed determined to distract her from her mission. Did he not grasp the gravity of this situation?

Of course he did.

Interview with Rachel Donnelly, Author of Lady Broke

Please welcome Rachel Donnelly to the virtual offices this morning! Rachel is celebrating the release of her latest romance, Lady Broke. This is a rollicking adventure set in the Wild West.  Check it out!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Describe yourself in 140 characters or less.

[Rachel Donnelly] I’m a dreamer who believes in following your heart to fulfill your destiny.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you tell us a little about Lady Broke?

[Rachel Donnelly] It’s a wild adventure of two unlikely lovers in the Wild West.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?

[Rachel Donnelly] I wanted to write a story about a hero and heroine, who were both used to being in charge, but approach problems in opposite ways and see how that conflict played out.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three words best describe Christie?

[Rachel Donnelly] She’s a spunky, moral, crusader, but a little naive. Sorry that’s four. LOL.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If Nat had a theme song, what would it be?

[Rachel Donnelly] “Wanted Dead or Alive” Bon Jovi

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name one thing Christie is never without.

[Rachel Donnelly] Her hat.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three things will you never find in Nat’s bedroom?

[Rachel Donnelly] Boy, I could go to some really dark places with that one. LOL A bible-he has no use for one anymore. Clutter- he lives a sparse existence. A full bottle of whiskey- he needs a few shots to sleep at night.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What is Christie’s greatest regret?

[Rachel Donnelly] She regrets not having taken every opportunity to have fun.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What are your greatest creative influences?

[Rachel Donnelly] That’s a tough one. History is a great influence, people and characters that I meet, art theatre, my crazy life, you name it.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three things do you need in order to write?

[Rachel Donnelly] All I need to write is coffee, silence, and time.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What was your biggest distraction while working on Lady Broke?

[Rachel Donnelly] Life is always my biggest distraction, but it’s also my inspiration. My life seems to move from one crisis to another with lots of joy in between. It’s a roller coaster ride. I think we’re all living the same wild dream. My cure is to bury myself in the story between all of my other responsibilities of kids, husband, household and job.

I started writing Lady Broke several years ago when I finaled in the Golden Heart with another book. So I had to block out the excitement and just get back to work.

We all have stories, art, and wonderful creativity churning inside of us. The trick is to be determined and dedicated enough to focus on whatever project you’re working on at the time.
You’ve got to love the process. Writing is like life to me – it’s the journey that’s important.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What is the last book that you read that knocked your socks off?

[Rachel Donnelly] Good question. I read a lot of poetry and classics. I’m also a huge Johanna Lindsay fan.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you had to pick one book that turned you on to reading, which would it be?

[Rachel Donnelly] “Lord of the Flies”

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?

[Rachel Donnelly] Spend time with my family. I’m a big gardener. I also love to shop, decorate, sew—you name it. I’ve always got several projects on the go. I’m a big treasure hunter as well. I love vintage and have tried to keep our big Victorian house on the farm as authentic as possible.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How can readers connect with you?

[Rachel Donnelly] You can find me at-

Thanks so much for having me!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Thank you!

About the book:

East meets west when a high-principled Boston socialite teams up with a revenge driven bounty hunter to catch a gang of outlaws in the wilds of Nevada.

It’s tough being a witness when the last one turned up dead. But Christie Wallace is determined to bring the Everett gang to justice. Unfortunately, the law can’t protect her from pistol-toting outlaws or the intoxicating lure of a dangerous man. But, after escaping the suffocating prospects of an arranged marriage, she has no intention of allowing her heart to rule her head, even when temptation comes in the form of an incorrigible lawman named Nat Randall.

Dead or alive—it made no difference to Nat Randall. He’d tried to bring the Everett gang to trial once before, but the law let him down. It seems frontier justice is all he has left. But he didn’t count on protecting a bewitching Easterner whose courageous spirit challenges him as much as her beauty distracts. It’s not long before he’s torn between pursuing her or the outlaws.

A timeless, rollicking adventure of unlikely lovers, set in the Wild West
