Cover Reveals! Entangled Publishing Launches Covet

Entangled Publishing is celebrating their Covet line with these cover reveals! I’m curious about these and intend to read a few.  Which ones look appealing to you?

Gone With The Wolf, Kristin Miller

CEO and alpha werewolf Drake Wilder has given up the search for his one true love. When he discovers that she’s a secretary in his company, Drake’s primal instincts kick into overdrive.

What he wouldn’t give to have her fingers rake over his body instead of the keyboard…
Free-spirited bartender Emelia Hudson wants nothing more than to make her Seattle-based bar succeed. But when profits decline, she slips into a dress suit and secures a nine-to-five. After learning that her bar has become property of Wilder Financial, Emelia is determined to get some answers.

Two can play the ruthless business game. If only her attraction to the boss wasn’t so intense…

When Drake’s twin brother senses that Drake has found his match—and now inherits their father’s billion dollar estate—he hatches a plan to take Emelia out. Drake vows to protect her at all costs, but he might have to pay with his own life.

The Awakening: Aidan, Abby Niles

Is the gift of eternal love a blessing or a curse?

After years of counseling grieving shifters, psychiatrist and half-shifter, Dr. Jaylin Avgar has become jaded on shifter mating. She wants to marry a human and forget about the love for eternity crap. Then she meets Aidan O’Connell, an infuriatingly laid back shifter who represents everything she doesn’t want. Yet, the more he pursues her, the more she craves a future with him. Only one thing stands in her way: death. Can she overcome her fear of losing Aidan to the one guarantee in life?

Millionaire consultant, Aidan O’Connell knows he’ll one day meet a woman who’ll awaken an unrelenting mating instinct. Unfortunately, that woman is Jaylin, who has no qualms about telling him that he and his so-called eternity can shove it. When she pushes him away, he takes a drastic step so she can no longer escape. The close proximity throws the instinct into overdrive. Can he control the need engrained in him until he’s certain she will reciprocate the bond, or will a moment of weakness doom him to hell on earth?

The Demon’s Song, Kendra Leigh Castle

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. At least, that’s how it seems to Sofia Rivera when her attempt to help a friend ends in a blood-soaked confrontation with creatures that aren’t even supposed to exist. With a group of rogue vampires determined not to leave a single witness to their violence hot on her heels, Sofia finds herself saddled with an immortal bodyguard—Phenex, the fallen Angel of Song.

While the vampire king roots out the corruption threatening to take down his underworld kingdom, Sofia will have to deal with a fallen angel whose dark beauty is often at odds with his ornery nature. Slowly, Sofia and Phenex give in to the strange attraction neither can deny. And as the darkness closes in around them, Phenex begins to wonder whether even the wickedest Fallen might find his own happy ending…and his heart.

Tall, Dark, and Divine, Jenna Bennett

Being the Greek god of love doesn’t mean you believe–or want–anything to do with that sappy emotion. Sure, Eros runs his matchmaking business, Made in Heaven, but finding his own love has never been part of the equation. When he spots the sweet baker who works across the street, he vows to match her with someone else before she stirs his sullen heart.

Annie Landon has given up on finding Mr. Right. What she needs is Mr. Right Here, Right Now, and this so-called “Greek God” she’s heard is on the rebound sounds like the perfect kind of distraction. But picking up the bitter workaholic is easier said than done…especially when he seems unreasonably determined to match her with someone else.

Can a woman looking for love—and the matchmaking god who wants her to find it with someone who isn’t him—have a shot at a happy ending? May the best god—or mortal—win.

Deceiving the Witch Next Door, Melissa Bourbon Ramirez

Down-on-her-luck witch Storie Bell never thought the biggest threat to her future would be Reid Malone, the very man she’d run from years before. After striking it rich in Texas shale, he’s back in town, and he seems hell-bent on getting in the way of her bookstore’s grand opening. A witch trying to blend in in a small southern town is hard enough, but now he’s seriously testing her strict No Kissing Mortal Men policy. But even witches don’t have a spell for that.

Reid knows there’s much more to Storie than meets the eye. But right now he has only one mission: to infiltrate her shop so he can snatch the elusive secret ingredient to his father’s million-dollar moonshine recipe. Once he does, he can go back to the city and get out of his small hometown, a place in which he has no future.

But as the days go by, he can’t help falling for Storie in every way…and every encounter brings him closer to finding out what happens when you try to deceive a witch.

Interview with Erin Nicholas, Author of Hitched

Please give a warm welcome to Erin Nicholas! Erin is the author of Hitched, the fourth book in the Promise Harbor Wedding continuity.  Erin is the final author to stop by to chat about this Samhain series, so please enjoy, and don’t forget to check out the links after the interview so you can order a copy of all four books for yourself!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Describe yourself in 140 characters or less.

[Erin Nicholas] Wife, mom, romance writer, wine lover, dark chocolate connoisseur, coffeeaholic, sarcastic, bossy Princess

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you tell us a little about Hitched?

[Erin Nicholas] I’d love to! Hitched is the fourth book (of four) in the Promise Harbor Wedding series. The series starts at a wedding that goes all wrong and follows the members of the wedding party from that point. Book one is the jilted groom’s story, book two tells us what happens when the Maid of Honor disappears, the Best Man gets into trouble in book three and then book four is the bride’s story. The run-away bride’s story to be specific!

Gavin Montgomery is the hero of book four. He arrives in Promise Harbor just before the woman he loves says I do to someone else. He can’t let Allie get married without telling her that he’s still in love with her and the only chance he has is, well, in the middle of the ceremony.

From there they’re on a crazy adventure to see where their hearts take them and if they can make things work this time.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?

[Erin Nicholas] Three good friends and a glass of good wine! But seriously, our editor, Lindsey Faber at Samhain, first suggested a multi-author series with the four of us. We were all really excited, but we all had lots of other things going on and it took us awhile (2 years!) to really get a solid idea and to get going.

When we started brainstorming, we knew that we wanted a central event of some kind tying our characters and our stories together. We threw out lots of ideas, but the one that stuck and really got us all excited was a wedding. From there we each took a member of the wedding party and we were off and running!

I don’t know why, but I’ve always been intrigued by that part of the wedding ceremony where they ask “does anyone know of a reason why these two should not be wed?” I’ve always thought “what if” someone stood up and actually said “because I’m in love with her.” I eagerly volunteered to write the bride’s story, knowing that I wanted to finally use that “what if”! From there I got to create this woman, the bride, by asking things like “how did she end up the star in a wedding that she doesn’t really want?” “Who is this guy who’s interrupting the wedding?” “Why aren’t they together?” “What’s their history?” “Where has he been during this whole engagement that he’s just now showing up?” And a whole bunch of other fun questions!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three words best describe Allie?

[Erin Nicholas] generous, dependable, conflicted

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If Gavin had a theme song, what would it be?

[Erin Nicholas] I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by the Proclaimers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbNlMtqrYS0

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name one thing Allie is never without.

[Erin Nicholas] Her cell phone and planner

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three things will you never find in Gavin’s bedroom?

[Erin Nicholas] Any other woman (or man) besides Allie, a suit and tie, anything flowery, ruffle-y or lacey

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What is Allie’s greatest regret?

[Erin Nicholas] Allie is a very practical person and when she makes choices the pros and cons are carefully weighed. So I don’t think she’s really aware of any regrets, until she has some new insights thanks to Gavin. Then I think she regrets not trusting the people around her to be stronger or braver or smarter than she’s given them credit for and taking everything on by herself.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What are your greatest creative influences?

[Erin Nicholas] People. I am so fortunate to know and get to be around amazing people all the time. Everyone has a story and it’s so wonderful to hear about true stories of enduring love and bravery and sacrifice and triumph. I love getting to know people and asking them about their lives and their experiences.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three things do you need in order to write?

[Erin Nicholas] Coffee, a pink ballpoint pen (for notes or for longhand writing at times), and photos that act as inspiration for my characters.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What is the last book that you read that knocked your socks off?

[Erin Nicholas] Wow, that’s hard. I love to read, but don’t always have as much time as I’d like. And depending on my own deadlines there’s sometimes a big gap between a book’s release and when I actually pick it up.

Hmm… to me this would mean a book I was anxious to get back to when I had to put it down, a book that I thought about when I wasn’t reading, and characters that I can easily conjure even long after I finish it. One book that comes to mind in recent months is High Risk, by Vivian Arend. I always love Viv’s writing and the whole premise in this novel, with the search and rescue team, was just really fun.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you had to pick one book that turned you on to reading, which would it be?

[Erin Nicholas] LaVyrle Spencer’s Separate Beds

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?

[Erin Nicholas] Hang out with my family, read, movies, lunch with girlfriends

About the book:

And she thought the bridesmaids dresses were her biggest problem…

Promise Harbor Wedding, Book 4

Allison Ralston would rather be anywhere other than this wedding. Even ifthe wedding is hers. Especially since the wedding is hers.
But Allie’s determined to restore her family’s happiness, and if tying the knot with longtime family friend Josh Brewster is the way to do it, then she’ll walk down that aisle, toss that bouquet and drink that champagne. Oh, she’ll definitely drink the champagne.

There’s only one thing that could get Gavin Montgomery back to Promise Harbor. And she’s about to say I do to another man. Now he’s back to claim what’s his—even if he has to do it in the middle of her wedding.
Allie is shocked—and okay, a little turned on—when Gavin literally sweeps her off her feet. Safe in his arms, she succumbs to fatigue, stress, and yes, the champagne, only to wake up in his bed. In Alaska.

Now that he’s put four thousand miles between Allie and all her responsibilities, Gavin’s determined to show her that they can make a life together. If he has his way, the next wedding Allie will be planning will be theirs.

Warning: Contains a guy so in love he’s willing to break up the wedding of the season, a bride who just needs to get to, well, anywhere else, and enough hot sex to take them from New England to Alaska and back again

Interview with Sydney Somers, Author of Busted

Please welcome special guest Sydney Somers!  Sydney is here to chat about the third book in the Promise Harbor Wedding series.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Describe yourself in 140 characters or less.

[Sydney Somers] Romance writer, book lover, chatty introvert, margarita maker, culinary disaster, zombie enthusiast, video game addict, loves life.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you tell us a little about Busted?

[Sydney Somers] Busted is the third book in the Promise Harbor Wedding series and features a reformed rebel heroine turned police detective, who arrests the hometown hockey legend the night before his best friend’s wedding. The blurb says it better than I do though. :)

Hockey star Jackson Knight has a hundred reasons not to return to Promise Harbor, but none of them are good enough to get him out of attending his best friend’s wedding. Even with a career-ending knee injury, every puck-bunny in town will be gunning for him.

Worse, getting a pair of cuffs slapped on him at the bachelor party could ruin any chance of getting back in the game, even as a coach. Unless he can convince the arresting officer to smooth things over—by going to the wedding as his date.

Hayley Stone figures posing as Jackson’s girlfriend is the least she can do to salvage his reputation. Plus, having a man with a toe-curling smile on her arm will keep her ex off her back.

What starts as a simple plan to deflect small-town pot-shots unexpectedly becomes a sizzling night that hits Jackson like a full-body-check to the heart. Now he’s determined to prove that she’s the best of reason of all to come home—for good.

Warning: Contains a fiery powerplay both on and off the ice, skin-tingling forced intimacy, interfering grandparents, bear costume hijinks, a haunted house and the kind of game-changing chemistry worth fighting for.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?

[Sydney Somers] The concept for the Promise Harbor Wedding series was brainstormed by Kelly Jamieson, Meg Benjamin, Erin Nicholas and myself. Once we had the idea of a wedding that doesn’t go off as planned, we basically broke the wedding party down so that each author took one as a main character. From the start I knew I had the best man, Jackson, and that was pretty much it, until I got this image in my head of a woman sitting in a church musing about the fact that she’d arrested her wedding date. I was off and running after that.

I’m also a big hockey fan and have always wanted to write about a hockey player, but I knew it would take a certain kind of woman to keep Jackson on his toes. Hayley was up for the challenge though. :)

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three words best describe Hayley?

[Sydney Somers] Determined, devoted, and if you ask Jackson, dangerous.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If Jackson had a theme song, what would it be?

[Sydney Somers] Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar and the song definitely pops up in Busted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRbXMW…

[Manga Maniac Cafe] Name one thing Hayley is never without.

[Sydney Somers] Her gun. Or maybe that’s just AFTER she meets Jackson lol

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three things will you never find in Jackson’s bathroom?

[Sydney Somers] Soap on a rope, coordinating hand towel sets or bubble bath. Hayley might bring him around on the latter.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What is Hayley’s greatest regret?

[Sydney Somers] Aside from arresting the best man the night before the wedding? :) Her biggest regret would definitely be not getting the chance to say goodbye to her father.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What are your greatest creative influences?

[Sydney Somers] On the creative side I’m influenced by almost anything: Memories, places I’ve visited/would like to see, images, news headlines, movies, books, music. I’m constantly surprised by the story ideas triggered by all of the above, especially when paired with the question, “What If?” That’s what really fuels my imagination. :)

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three things do you need in order to write?

[Sydney Somers] Wine, chocolate and a personal masseuse. A girl can dream, right? Seriously though, I can write anywhere as long I’ve got my laptop, pen and paper (because sometimes I just have to hand write) and music. Music is a must.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What is the last book that you read that knocked your socks off?

[Sydney Somers] I recently finished Wait For You by J. Lynn (who also writes under Jennifer Armentrout) and it was my first New Adult book. I was really impressed with it!

[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you had to pick one book that turned you on to reading, which would it be?

[Sydney Somers] I adored reading Nancy Drew paperbacks when I was a kid (Betty and Veronica double digests don’t really count, do they?) For the romance genre though, it would have to be Perfect by Judith McNaught. I loved the whole kidnapped and forced intimacy storyline. Before that the closest I got to reading romance were the often tragic love stories in Danielle Steel books.

[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?

[Sydney Somers] When I’m not chasing after my kids, pretending I love to do laundry (doesn’t everybody?) or fighting my current addiction to Candy Crush Saga, I’m curled up with a book or trying to prove how kick butt I am at Black Ops 2. Emphasis on trying.

Interview with Meg Benjamin, Author of Bolted

Please welcome Meg Benjamin to the virtual offices today! Meg is here to tell us about Bolted, the second book in the Promise Harbor Wedding continuity.

[Manga Maniac Café] Describe yourself in 140 characters or less.

[Meg Benjamin] I’m a late-blooming romance author, specializing in contemporary and paranormal with a bit of comedy. Romance on Wry, that’s me.

[Manga Maniac Café] Can you tell us a little about Bolted?

[Meg Benjamin] Bolted is the second book in the Promise Harbor Wedding quartet, four books (Jilted, Bolted, Busted, Hitched) by four different authors (Kelly Jamieson, me, Sydney Somers, Erin Nicholas). All four start with the same disastrous wedding ceremony, with heroes and heroines who were all involved in the wedding. My heroine is the matron of honor, Greta Brewster, who’s also the groom’s sister. Greta’s got a secret: her own marriage has just ended in divorce and she doesn’t know how to tell her mother. She takes off for a few hours and ends up taking a week-long vacation at an eccentric hotel in another town. Oh, and she finds the love of her life stuck in a hole nearby.

[Manga Maniac Café] How did you come up with the concept and the characters for the story?

[Meg Benjamin] The four of us brainstormed the central concept of the series, the idea of the wedding that goes south when the bride absconds with her ex. Then each of us decided how our characters would be related to the wedding. I grabbed the matron of honor because I had an idea about a woman who runs away from a wedding wearing one of those awful, Gone With the Wind bridesmaid dresses.

[Manga Maniac Café] What three words best describe Greta?

[Meg Benjamin] Impulsive, Conflicted, Delicious

[Manga Maniac Café] If Hank had a theme song, what would it be?

[Meg Benjamin] Ain’t Gonna Let You Go

[Manga Maniac Café] Name one thing Greta is never without.

[Meg Benjamin] A great recipe for oatmeal cookies

[Manga Maniac Café] What three things will you never find in Hank’s glovebox?

[Meg Benjamin] A J. Crew catalog, a Dustbuster, a copy of The Pick-Up Artist

[Manga Maniac Café] What is Hank’s greatest regret?

[Meg Benjamin] That Greta didn’t arrive sooner at Hotel Grande. He put up with a lot of very bad cooking before she rescued him from his own dig.

[Manga Maniac Café] What are your greatest creative influences?

[Meg Benjamin] Writers who combine romance and comedy without losing either one: Jennifer Crusie, Loretta Chase, Susan Elizabeth Philips, and Barbara Metzger among lots of others. Plus writers who didn’t let a late start keep  them from pursuing their dreams, like my friend Desiree Holt.

[Manga Maniac Café] What three things do you need in order to write?

[Meg Benjamin] My trusty MacBook Air, my Ikea Poäng chair, a glass of something or other (wine is nice, but I can go with iced tea earlier in the day).

[Manga Maniac Café] What is the last book that you read that knocked your socks off?

[Meg Benjamin] Tess Gerritsen’s Last To Die. Really, really spooky and intricately plotted. Not a lot of romance, though.

[Manga Maniac Café] If you had to pick one book that turned you on to reading, which would it be?

[Meg Benjamin] Probably Bambi. Don’t judge me! It was the first book I stayed up half the night to finish reading at age eight or so.

[Manga Maniac Café] What do you like to do when you aren’t writing?

[Meg Benjamin] I love to cook and I love to travel. My favorite things to do are to drive around the country, eating at good restaurants and visiting cool places like wineries and art galleries with my hubs.

[Manga Maniac Café] How can readers connect with you?

[Meg Benjamin] All kinds of ways. My Web site is http://www.MegBenjamin.com and my blog is http://megbenj1.wordpress.com/. You can follow me on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/meg.benjamin1), Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/megbenjamin/), Twitter (http://twitter.com/megbenj1), Goodreads (http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/2869971.Meg_Benjamin), and with my friends at Nine Naughty Novelists (http://ninenaughtynovelists.blogspot.com/). About Bolted:

Sometimes you have to get lost before you can find yourself.

The Promise Harbor Wedding, Book 2

Greta Brewster McBain in a bind. Two, if she’s really counting. First there’s the can-barely-breathe, bridesmaid’s dress from hell. Second, the stranger who just carried her “perfect” brother’s fiancée out the church door has made it impossible to tell her own mother about her own divorce.

Rather than confirm her reputation as the family screw-up, Greta takes a drive to clear her head.

Trapped in a hole and unable to reach his cell phone, Hank Mitchell is resigned to becoming a permanent part of his own archeological dig when help arrives—in the form of a woman who looks like a Gone With The Wind refugee. Behind the ruffles and lace, though, is something he appreciates: a woman who isn’t afraid of a little dirt.

Their instant connection draws Greta into the eccentric world of the Hotel Grand, where she impulsively trades her hoopskirts for an apron. Soon things are getting hot, not only in the hotel kitchen, but in Hank’s arms…

Warning: Contains hot moonlit sex, a melancholy turtle, two wisecracking seniors, and the world’s ugliest bridesmaid dress.

Review:

Oh, my!  The drama explodes in Georgetown Academy Book 3!  This was a fun installment of the series, as most of the action takes place at a ski resort in Vermont. The major players all think that they are going to get a break from the rigors of DC, but guess again, guys!  The microscope has followed you all to the slopes, and many of you are going to have the worst vacation ever!

It must be nice to attend a fancy private school in DC, because all of the kids from the various high schools converge at a ski resort for an annual pilgrimage to work on their networking skills, and sneak in lots of partying while the clueless, inattentive chaperons who are traveling with them dine at the restaurant.  Ellie feels that life is finally getting back on track.  She’s met the marvelous Weston Morris, and she is instantly smitten.  He’s caring and brushes aside the recent photo scandal with Gabe with a shrug of his shoulders.  Better yet, his mom and Ellie’s mother are political allies, and they are openly encouraging of their match.  What Ellie doesn’t know is that Weston has a dark past, and he’s not the knight in shining armor that he pretends to be.  Will her friends be able to convince her that he’s trouble?  Nah, probably not, but the interpersonal conflicts between Brinley, Evan, and Ellie made this story thread a lot of fun.

I am even enjoying the triangle between Taryn, Gabe, and Brooks, and usually I have no patience for girls who can’t make up their minds.  It’s always obvious that one of the guys is so wrong, and the other is so right, but they are always attracted to Mr. Wrong.  While I’m not convinced which guy is which, it’s obvious that Gabe is still hung up over Ellie, and Taryn’s desire for a definitive, public acknowledgement from Gabe that the two of them are a Couple is causing her a lot of grief.  In a somewhat lame attempt to get him jealous, she promptly takes the advice of her LA friend and begins to flirt outrageously with Brooks.  I was starting to think there was something seriously wrong with Gabe, because he was so indifferent to her new, close friendship with Brooks.  It was kind of sad how obviously indifferent he really is to Taryn.

I was disappointed at how easily and quickly Brinley got over her addiction to prescription medication.  After a two week stint at a rehab center, she was deemed all better and ready to get back to school.  She is warned to not allow herself to get into stressful situations, as the stress is her trigger, but since her parents are far, far too busy getting ahead in the political scene, neither bothered to pick her up or even read her discharge notes.  Her mother is an uncaring, emotionally distant wench, and she immediately piles the pressures of being a Madison back onto Brinley’s shoulders.  Sigh.

As Georgetown Academy Book 3 drew to a close, I was kind of bummed out.  There are many unresolved story threads and now that I am invested in the series, I checked for a release date for Book 4.  There’s no listing yet, so I’ll be biting my nails while I wait to see what’s up next for the G.A. crew.

I have a copy of Georgetown Academy Book 3 to give away, so to get prepped for the release of Book 4, be sure to enter for your chance to win!  Thanks to Coliloquy for providing the giveaway!
