I think because the hero isn’t really a cowboy – he has a few cowboy traits, but I don’t think that I would classify him as a cowboy.

(We had Quarter horses growing up. I rode hunt seat.) But I’m not a big cowboy story fan. This doesn’t sound too cowboy-ish. My TBR pile is huge and mostly filled with paranormal and urban fantasy books. But this one might be a nice alternative when I need a break from the woo-woo stuff. LOL Nice review.
