Zombies have descended on the populace, animated by disgraced Magic Knight Rades. I can’t lie – when I saw the title for this book, I was dying to read it. I thought it would be a fun spy caper, kind of like Alley Carter’s books. I had mixed results with this one, mainly because of the protagonist. And you definitely have to suspend disbelief, because some of the plot is so over the top it is hard to swallow.

When I saw that Blood and Sand had a Roman setting, and features gladiators, I was all over it. I love stories set in Ancient Rome, and I was intrigued to read this take on the Spartacus legend. While the protagonist had a habit of not acting in her best interests, I found this a solid read.

Manga Review: Black Clover Vol 1 by Yuki Tabata

I checked this out of the library without even knowing what it was about. I’m almost caught up on Haikyu!!, and I’m looking for another series to read until new volumes of that are released. This jumped out at me; I liked the cover with the extremely happy looking guy wielding a big black sword. Sure, count me in!
