Last week will go down as the week that I ate the most Mexican food in my life.  If I wasn’t feasting on tacos from Burrito King, I was munching on chips and salsa at El Patio.  Mexican cuisine is one of my weaknesses, and last week I had no will power what so ever! I will have to turn twice the number of pages as normal to try to work off some of these extra calories!  When it comes to food, what is your Achilles Heel?

The weather this winter has been the oddest that I remember in quite some time.  Temps in the low teens one day, then in the 40s the next.  No wonder everyone I work with is sick! I am attempting to dodge the creeping crud that is going around the office.  What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods?  Warmer than normal? Colder than normal?  Or about the same?

Ugh! I have never been so happy for a week to end!  Last week was just one fiasco after another, and US Bank took the cake for crappy customer service.  We always FedEx our mortgage payments to the bank, well in advance of the due date after a mishap when our mortgage was “serviced” by Chase.  So imagine my dismay when US Bank signed for the check, and then promptly LOST it.  Yup, and then the first customer rep I spoke with told me “too bad” and hung up on me.  Let’s just say that didn’t go over very well.  Oh, guys, did you forget that I’m the customer?  Anyway, that mess still hasn’t been cleared up to my satisfaction – hopefully things will be resolved Monday.

fter a frustrating week, I was very, very grateful to receive an assortment of great looking books.  I can hardly wait to get started on these!

New arrivals at the Café:

Above World by Jenn Reese

Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood

Freshman Year & Other Unnatural Disasters by Meredith Zeitlin

Sliver of Shadow by Allison Pang

Brush of Darkness by Allison Pang

The Obsidian Blade by Pete Hautman

Shadows on the Moon by Zoe Marriott

The Princess of Trelian by Michelle Knudsen

Twin Spica Vol 11 by Kou Yaginuma

Shadow Ops: Control Point by Myke Cole (Finished copy)

Tia: Fitting In by Jada Jones

Kiki: Bein’ Good by Jada Jones

Nishell: Holding Back by Jada Jones

Marnyke: Keepin’ Her Man by Shay Jackson

Sherise: Blind Trust by Shay Jackson

Unchained by L. B. Tillit

I also took advantage of the sale at Bath and Body Works.  Dean gave me a gift card for my birthday, and I was able to score a ton of sale and clearance items!  I picked up an assortment of vanilla scented soaps and lotions, as well as 10 pair of their Shea Infused Socks.  These socks are so soothing and once I slip into a pair, I am relaxed and ready to snuggle up with a good book.  If you don’t own a pair, you owe it to your feet to get yourself some of these socks.
